Homemade Ice Cream Mixed with Gourmet Brownies!

I received an ice cream maker a few years ago as a gift and finally decided to make some home made ice cream! With temperatures reaching 118 degrees in Phoenix this weekend, I thought a cool treat would be just the ticket. Since I'd never made ice cream before, I thought I'd try vanilla. It turned out to be my boyfriend who came up with the truly inspired idea. He said I should make vanilla with bites of Fairytale Gourmet Brownies throughout! The idea was too tempting not to try!

I cut two Fairytale Peanut Butter Brownies into pieces and added them to the ice cream machine when the ice cream was nearly ready. The result was delicious! I served my boyfriend his with a Fairytale Peanut Butter Cookie. He would not stop raving about the dessert! I am excited to serve this amazing treat to others and may even bring it to my Fourth of July Barbecue!

Fairytale Brownies and the 4th Annual Bite Nite, a culinary match to support ALS

Every year, for the last four years, the ALS Association Arizona Chapter has hosted "Bite Nite", a culinary event to raise funds in support of ALS patients and their families here in the Valley.  This year they chose Fairytale Brownies as one of the desserts to give away at the end of the evening, and everyone was thrilled to have a little taste of gourmet Belgian chocolate brownies, always a favorite!

This year the organization also put out a Bite Nite Cookbook for the event to showcase the culinary delights of those participating, and the Fairytale Brownies recipe for Spicy Chili Chocolate Fondue was included.  This recipe can also be found on the Fairytale Brownies website at http://www.brownies.com/fairytale_fun/recipes.aspx?scid=BLOG - it's a simply divine recipe meant to complement Fairytale Brownies.

The ALS Association is the only not-for-profit health organization dedicated solely to the fight against ALS, and it means the world to me because my mother-in-law, Mary (pictured...

Personalized Feel-Better Brownies Delivered!

Photo Morsel Dozen A friend of mine did something amazing last week. She saved a life by donating bone marrow to an anonymous leukemia patient somewhere in the United States. She was matched with this person because she is on the Be the Match bone marrow registry, and answered the call when she was identified as a potential match for someone. I am also on the registry, and hope to someday receive that call as well.

The process, while nothing compared to lengthy cancer treatments that her marrow recipient has faced, is a bit painful, time-consuming, and energy draining. So I thought, what better gift to recover from saving someone's life than a personalized brownie gift? I know I would appreciate some Belgian chocolate brownies if I were recovering from such an exhausting procedure.

So I sent her this Photo Morsel Dozen with a picture of my daughter from an especially funny dinner we had with my friend and her husband. Long story short, my daughter was 6 months old and ended up trying to lie down and sleep...

We just wanted to bake the Best Brownies Ever...

When David & I quit our corporate jobs to be our own boss and create our own brand in 1992, we took his mom's brownie recipe with the goal of baking the best brownies in the world!

Millions and millions of Belgian Chocolate Fairytale Brownies later, we take the time to share with others what we have learned. Recently, the kids from the business class at Metro Tech High School visited and today I received a pile of thank you notes.

The notes reminded me how it is so much more than baking the best brownies ever... So many of the notes thanked me for helping them realize that with drive and perseverence you can go for what you want in life. You can make your own Fairytale come true, thanks for sweetening my day!

Reduce Your Stress! Eat a Belgian Chocolate Brownie!

Unavoidable and at many times unbearable, stress affects us all. Whether you're worrying about work, school, relationships, money, or a combination of things, stress not only burdens you emotionally, but can be the cause of many health issues as well. It occurs when there is an imbalance between the demands made on us and our ability to cope with those demands. A little stress may not be harmful, in some ways it can also be good. I find that a little stress helps me to be more productive, but too much can cause emotional and physical damage. Some negative health effects include aches and pains, dizziness, nausea, chest pains, and frequent colds.  If you're stressed then you are obviously already dealing with a lot and now you have to worry about your health as well?

Luckily there are different things you can do to manage your stress, and with April being Stress Awareness Month, there is a lot of literature out there about coping with it. Of course, the one that stood out to me the most...

3 April Fool's Day pranks the Fairytale Brownie won't play on you

No one knows the exact origin of April Fool's Day. Some say it's a celebration of Spring and a reason to be lighthearted. Others say April 1 was the celebration of New Year's Day prior to the introduction of the Gregorian Calendar. Whatever its history, April Fool's Day is a day to play silly, foolish tricks on anyone and everyone.

Our Fairytale Brownie is somewhat of a jokester, so I asked him what kinds of tricks he would play if he was allowed to do so. This is what he said:

1. To my cousin who claims I never think of him: I would send an empty box that should have been filled with 12 gourmet brownies (a Fairytale Dozen). My message would read: Traded thoughts of you for brownies. Enjoy your box of THOUGHTS. I enjoyed the treats! Love, Brownie

2. To my sister who is easy to annoy: I will ship brownies that have a bite taken out of each one. My message would read: I tested these fudge brownies to make sure they are fresh. They are! Love, Brother Brownie

3. To my Mom who LOVES...
