We are getting ready for our upcoming Great American Bake Sale next month and the ideas are flowing to create recipes with our fudgy chocolate brownies.
On the list? Praline Brownies, Peanut Butter Cup Cream Cheese Brownies, Peppermint Cream Torte, Pumpkin Brownies, and Brownie Ice Cream Sandwiches.
Fairytale Brownies is joining millions of people across the country who are holding bake sales to fight childhood hunger in America with the national nonprofit Share Our Strength.
Our bake sale will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Fairytale Bakery (4610 E. Cotton Center Blvd.; 48th Street and Broadway).
In addition to the delicious desserts mentioned above, we will sell our individually wrapped gourmet cookies and fudgy brownies for $1 donation. These particular treats are what we call "rejects." They taste great, but they didn't pass quality control inspection for some reason - a corner might be broken off, the brownie label isn't centered, the brownie isn't perfect in every way...
All of the proceeds from the bake sale will go to Save Our Strength, as well as 20 percent of the day's in-store purchases.
While you're deciding which treats to purchase, we will be SAMPLING our two new cookie flavors - Peanut Butter and Mint Chocolate. If the temperature is below 110 degrees, we might even have Fairytale Cocoa and Fairytale Coffee brewed to try!
And because the holidays are quickly approaching (four months from today is Christmas Day, by the way), we will display Fairytale's holiday and Christmas packaging as well as our elegant, new year round packaging.
Save the date - Sept. 20 - to stop by our bakery to browse, sample and purchase gourmet brownie gifts while fighting against childhood hunger.
