Spring sprouts as the Fairytale bakery egg hunts for knowledge

Posted by:
Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Our Marketing Team had a Spring Egg Hunt at Fairytale Brownies' all-staff meeting today. Although the temperature was a little warmer than desired - 86 - the bakery team members managed to find the eggs (some stuffed with chocolate) with no problems.

The goal for today's meeting was for the Marketing Team to teach the rest of the bakery a little bit about what we do. We call this type of meeting a Learning Lunch. (You can guess by the name that lunch is served as well!)

Seven different teams were...

This week's customer story comes from Janet Drez:

"Okay, this is going back a ways! If I recall correctly, first time I had a Fairytale Brownie was when Eileen was giving away little brownie bites at the grand opening of, I think it was, a section of the 101 freeway!? Trying to get the word out about these amazing little cocoa creations!!

I had met Eileen through another friend, Leslie Barrett, at the Arizona Small Business Association.

Needless to say, I was hooked! My favorite flavor was and...

This week, our customer story comes from Jody Ulich, President of Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, in Texas:

"In the early '90's I was working at the Phoenix Arts Commission in the public art program. Eileen Spitalny, who was with Univision at the time, came into the office to visit with the staff. She let us all know that she and her good friend, David, were throwing caution to the wind and were going to start a business selling brownies. BROWNIES! We wished her much luck!

The Fairytale Brownies bakery was buzzing with conversation before store hours this morning when 43 Tempe Chamber of Commerce members attended a morning mixer in our retail store for food and networking.

Of course, fudgy brownies and chewy cookies from Fairytale were on the menu! Fresh fruit and bagels from Chompie's rounded out the morning meal.

While chatting and eating, visitors were able to watch our bakers prepare cookies and gourmet brownies through the bakery's viewing windows.

Fudge Brownies turn first date into marriage with Prince Charming

Posted by:
Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Sometimes our customers' stories read like a fairytale. This week we hear from Vicki Stouffer:

"Once upon a time, a woman (me) met a man who she thought could be "the one." He was intelligent, good looking and courteous, and there was an instant connection. I wanted to express how I felt about him at a certain point in our relationship, and it had to be the perfect gift to make that important statement.

I had gotten to know Eileen Spitalny and Fairytale Brownies, which are still one of my...

Customer Katy Stahlman sent in her Fairytale Brownies story:

'Three years ago, I was planning my wedding. I was looking for a wedding favor to give my family and friends that they would love, and not like all the other favors I have seen at other weddings.

I was given a book on discount items for a wedding. In it there was a section on favors, and it had your web site there with the idea of a personalized one. I went to your web site and saw that you could buy the brownies in bulk.

After that, I...

This week's customer story was submitted by Audrey.

"I saw a post on Facebook requesting our personal stories about how we were first introduced to our yummy brownies, so I am putting my story in! vdA female vendor that my department deals with on a regular basis realized that I am one of only two women in a department surrounded by men. So... she (very kindly!) sent me a box of your assorted brownies on Valentine's Day with a little not that reminded me to enjoy the day as much as possible.

This week's customer story is from Katie O'Harra:

"I know ballet dancers and brownies are not commonly put together, but for me, they are. A few years ago, I moved from my hometown; and also where I had danced since I could remember. At the last dance company I trained with in my hometown, was my beloved Mrs. Susan. She was my role model as a woman, for godly living, and in successful dancing. Yet, she had always treated me as a daughter, seeing that she only had two boys of her own. Although...Read More » »
