Yesterday, my associate Erin Kress and I helped build a playground in Phoenix with our nonprofit partner KaBOOM! What a transformation!
When we arrived at South Pointe Elementary School, there was nothing but an empty lot with many holes in the ground. By the end of the day, the playground was complete - swings, a slide, a music station, spider web climber, climbing wall, pirate ship, outdoor classroom, four square set up, tether ball, hop scotch, peace pole, planters and benches. I might be missing something, but when there are more than 250 volunteers participating, there's bound to be a detail I might miss.
This playground build was my 6th one, and as usual, KaBOOM! had their act together. Every time I help with a build, I think, "there's no way this thing will be finished today." And happily I'm proved wrong. KaBOOM! is a national nonprofit whose vision is to build a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America. The children at South Pointe are going to have a great time at this playspace.
Fairytale Brownies sends a brownie gift to every KaBOOM! playspace build and also sends brownies for volunteers at all Arizona builds (we're in Arizona too, so we like to sweeten the day a little) to have a brownie break. Fairytale also donates a portion of sales from our special occasion gifts throughout the year.
I DO have to say that I'm becoming quite an expert on shoveling and carrying wood chips. I only took home one chip in my shoe this time! AND best of all, my soreness level from suddenly using muscles I never use is only a 3 out of 10. It's a Fairytale day!

If you are a fan of YouTube, check out the Fairytale Brownies YouTube Channel. We have a bunch of videos posted there ranging from our very early days on local news programs to our "Food Network - Food Finds" video from a few years ago. My favorite video is the demonstration on how we bake our luscious gourmet brownies! I can watch that video over and over!

We love getting feedback from our customers here at Fairytale Brownies. Every time you order brownies, you and your recipient get an opportunity to tell us what you love and if you have any suggestions for us. If you haven't ever responded to our online survey or via the postcard in your brownie box, please do so the next time you order. Or send an email to service@brownies.com. You just might be featured on our blog! We got some emails today about two things that are near and dear to our hearts, soldier care packages and our partnership with KaBOOM!, so I thought I would share them.
"Hey, I just want to say thank you so much for supporting the troops. One of the girls I know said she was trying to order brownies and you sent some to her deployed soldier at your expense. Although I am lucky enough to have my husband home this holiday season, I just want to say thanks again, because little things like this mean the world to deployed soldiers who are happy to have anything that reminds them of home. Next deployment I will be sure to pass along the word that you guys are great! I hope your business continues to be prosperous." -Rebekah S.
"Hello Fairytale Brownies. My wife and I have been using your services to send client gifts for 10+ years. We were recently visiting my grandparents in
Thanks Rebekah and Ryan for your kind words, we really appreciate it!

Hello! Friday is almost here. It is a big day for us because we are expecting a film crew from The Food Networks 'Unwrapped' to film an episode entitled 'comfort food' featuring Fairytale Brownies! A few years back, Fairytale Brownies was featured on The Food Networks 'Food Finds.' It was very exciting for us and was an honor to be chosen for the episode. We are just as excited for The Food Network to be back and looking forward to a 'comfy' episode of Unwrapped. As soon as we have an air date, we'll let you know. Oh, and check out our Food Finds video below from back in the day.
Oh, and don't forget, we have lots of other video's from behind the scenes at Fairytale Brownies on Fairytale Brownies YouTube channel...check them out!

The buzz going on here at Fairytale Brownies is huge this week. We are all so excited about this Friday because we are expecting a TV crew from The Food Networks "Unwrapped" show to shoot an episode featuring Fairytale Brownies. The premise of the show is 'comfort food' and they'll be shooting the bakers baking our gourmet brownies from scratch, interviewing our founders David Kravetz and Eileen Spitalny, filming our shipping team packing and getting gifts ready for FedEx shipment, and showcasing our retail store that is open to the public.
From the show, we are hoping to remind people that Fairytale Brownies are great as Holiday Gifts and are easy and simple to Order Brownies! As soon as we have an air date for the show, we'll pass the word along to you!

Fairytale Brownies is back from the chocolate show in NYC! The 3 lucky Fairytale Brownies employees who went took lots of pictures of not only the show, but of their antics out in the city. We are all excited to see the pictures and we decided to share them with you as well. Check back soon for pictures and a (long!) blog on Fairytale Brownies in NYC!

Veterans' Day is upon us, and I thought I would take a minute to thank all of our veterans, past and present, on behalf of everyone here at Fairytale Brownies. We love our troops, so much so that we even have a bulletin board in our office overflowing with all the notes and photos we've received over the years from the soldiers we support.
Not only do we offer free shipping on any gourmet brownie gifts sent to an APO/FPO military address, but we are also part of the Soldiers' Angels Bakers Group, sending delicious Belgian chocolate brownies to our deployed troops each and every month. Our Customer Service Team also writes letters and sends care packages to soldiers to remind them someone is thinking of them.
If you're looking for the perfect gift for your favorite veteran, try sending one of our Patriotic brownie gifts to show your appreciation for their service to our country.
Thank you veterans, for being our heroes!
~Kari
