My husband Jeff, in a bid to make himself healthier, decided in February that it was time for him to go on a diet. He was not happy with how he felt, and decided to change it, like most of us do. At that time, I wasn’t here at Fairytale Brownies, so he had few temptations to overcome. Two short months, and quite a few pant sizes later, he had lost about 30 pounds, and I was invited back to Fairytale Brownies. Needless to say, he loves the rich, fudgy chocolate brownies as much as I do. When I brought some home, since he had been so good, I made sure to include two of our favorite flavors as a splurge for him…Peanut Butter and Cream Cheese.
That beautiful purple and white bag barely made it in the house before he and my daughter started looking through it to see what gourmet brownies I had brought them. (Check out my previous blogs for the kiddo’s faves.) And, dessert that night was courtesy of Fairytale Brownies in my house!
Jeff has been very good, I must say. Once that original craving was out of the way for gourmet chocolate brownies, he didn’t ask for any more, and has been sticking to his healthier ways. He’s still dropping the pounds, and is over six miles a day on his exercise bike (which is no longer a dust collector). I’ve extremely proud of his accomplishment, and his willpower. So, I’ll bring him home some of the Sugar Free brownies to help satisfy that sweet tooth and celebrate his healthy accomplishment. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews from customers who have eaten the sugar free brownies, so I’m thinking they’re a great treat for him. I fully subscribe to the idea of “everything in moderation” and the treat of a wonderful, decadent, fudgy gourmet brownie makes the week of dieting worth it.

Through the winter, when I was a seasonal employee here at Fairytale Brownies, I brought boxes of Fairytale Sprites and Morsels to family dinners and potlucks alike. Here's a glimpse at a corner of my desk right now. As you might guess, I've been playing with gourmet brownies and our still-in-development cookies to decide how to pack several gourmet brownie gifts we're working on for the fall. Every gift starts with a concept, then as we get closer to completing the gift's contents, we test different ways to pack the contents inside the box so that everything stays intact when we ship brownies to be delivered to you and your gift recipients. We got some preliminary Fairytale Cookies today, so I spent some time putting them into boxes with our fudge brownies and, to put it simply, shaking up the box to see what happens. Soon we will test ship new brownie gifts to really see how they will hold up in transit. We spend a lot of time adjusting things until we are satisfied that all of the mail order brownies and cookies we send will arrive as perfect as they were when we packed the box, so you and your loved ones get the best brownies delivered!
Talk about elated! I just turned in my last assignment of the 2009 Spring semester! I only have 1 more semester to go (I currently attend Arizona State University), and then I walk with my Master's Degree in Science and Technology Management with emphasis in Graphics. We are very sad that we can't be there in person for commencement, but I fully plan on sending her a congratulations gift for her accomplishment. I've discovered that fudgy chocolate brownies from Fairytale Brownies make the perfect treat when guests arrive. Not knowing when they had their last meal, eating a dark chocolate brownie will satisfy the hunger until the next mealtime arrives.
Fairytale Brownies by themselves are always a treat for my guests, but I recently experimented with a cream cheese/powdered sugar mixture to sandwich between two bite-sized brownie pieces. Then I tossed in some chocolate chips to add a little crunch. With some of the brownie pieces, I just spooned a dollop of the mixture and placed a chocolate chip on top.
I used Peanut Butter, Caramel, Chocolate Chip, and Cream Cheese brownies, and all of them tasted quite delicious. For this recipe, you can use any brownie flavor you like.
Cream Cheese Mixture
1 8 oz. package Cream Cheese
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 - 1/2 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Mix together. After assembling, keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

People are always surprised to hear members of the Fairytale Brownies marketing team talking about Christmas all year round. You would think we get a break from it, but truth be told, we're constantly thinking and talking about what kinds of gourmet brownie gifts our customers will be looking for come December. Right now, Erin is working on new bands for our Christmas and Holiday fudge brownie gift boxes. To the right, you can see her Pantone swatches that she is using to choose the color palette for each band. 
Here is a sneak peek of Erin working on the beginnings of the new Christmas band design. It's coming along! She's also been hard at work on the design for the towers I talked about last week, but I don't want to give too much away, so I'm not going to show you. But I will say that these brownie towers are going to be gorgeous! Administrative Assistants can be the backbone of any organization. Our Administrative/Executive Assistant, Alyssa juggles many different jobs and wears many hats! Sometimes I wonder how she does it all. Well, Administrative Professionals Day is coming up on April 21st. Of course I can give her a box of our delectable gourmet brownies as a Thank You Food Gift, but then she gets to enjoy these every day! Two weekends ago, the marketing team here at Fairytale Brownies went to local Costco Warehouses in the Valley to demo on their road show. We were at Costco's in Paradise Valley (Cactus and Tatum) and in Mesa (Southern and Sossoman). We are always looking for new recipes using Fairytale Brownies. Tricia Jones of Alabama has a blog - Sinful Southern Sweets - and recently used some of our fudge brownies to make chocolate ice cream. Her recipe doesn't specify what flavor brownies she used, but I would think that each Fairytale flavor would give the ice cream a different personality. Recently we shared a blog post about Fairytale Brownies sending the Connecticut Air National Guard brownies (Air National Guard Blog Post) on their humanitarian rescue mission to the hardest hit part of Haiti after the devastating earthquake a few months ago.
After we sent brownies, we were flooded with emails to our blog from soldiers who received the fudge brownies and how thankful they were to us for sending a piece of home. It literally brought tears to my eyes to think that these men and women who put their lives on the line everyday to keep us safe from harm were thanking us with such sincerity for simply sending brownies. I had to immediately do a self reality check and be extremely thankful for all of the blessings in my life.
I would like to share a bit from an email I received from one of the soldiers who received Fairytale Brownies:
"We just received another box of the best brownies. The AIRFORCE thanks you for thinking of us. I have shared them with so many people, many whom have asked for your website to place orders when they go home (brownies.com). I myself have already sent home 3 thank you packages to people who have sent me care packages from home. The word is spreading and Fairytale Brownies are getting a great reputation with all the US Troops. Many people would like to say thank you, but we have very limited computer access. I thank you on behalf of the 500 troops still stationed here with me.
I was fortunate to visit the New Life Children's Home. It is an orphanage started by an American who has Haitian orphans and children with special needs residing on the compound. I brought donations I received in the mail from the states to the children. I also got to play, hug, and talk with the children. It was a great day Full of hope and love for all who were there. I got to visit with orphans who have special needs. We sat under the BIG tree that provides shade and hope. The special needs children sit under if for their own special hour during the day. It is a nice change of scenery for them. It is their time under the tree. Most of the day they watch the other children play, but the special needs children don't look sad they have the look of happiness knowing that the other children are having fun. The other children also help with the special needs children. Everyone in this home helps each other, and most of all everyone loves one another.
The beginning of this deployment to a bare base was and still is a lot of hard work. We are doing Search and Recovery/Mortuary Affairs. The work we are doing is hard, but it gives us all a sense of accomplishment knowing that the people we found are going home. Visiting the Orphanage I have a sense of hope. Seeing the children made every hard moment worth wild. The kids made me realize why I serve."

"I heard my Chief wrote to you and sent you pictures. he is a great man with a big heart. We go to the orphanage as often as we can. It really feels like we are making a difference. There are still 400 of us and more people have requested your great brownies. Thank you for everything."
As a matter of fact Chief (Jerry) did write me and shared some pictures from Haiti and their experiences there. See the awesome photo's below.

Whew! We've had a very busy start to 2010 here at Fairytale Brownies! Today, I'm working on some gourmet brownie gift towers we're going to debut in our Fall 2010 catalogs, and I wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes look at a new product in development. We've packed these white sample boxes full of delicious fudge brownies, cookies (can you spot them?), coffee, cocoa and cashews to see what fits in the towers.
Next, we'll analyze the cost of each gourmet brownie flavor that we hope to include, so we can make sure the gifts fit into the right price range for our customers who order brownies in these kinds of gifts.
On the design front, our graphic designer Erin is working on how the boxes should look so that we create the most enchanting gift we can. There will be plenty of our signature Fairytale purple and brown in one set of towers, but a couple of others will be designed as part of our Christmas and Holiday gift collections.
