It's a big weekend for both college football fans and art festival fans in Arizona. Arizona State University will play Stanford on Saturday to see which team will go to the 100th Rose Bowl, and thousands will attend the 45th Annual Tempe Festival of the Arts along Mill Avenue.
Fairytale Brownies is partial to both events for several reasons.
1. Co-founders Eileen Spitalny and David Kravetz used to sell gourmet brownies at street fairs and festivals - specifically at the Tempe Festival of the Arts - when they first began the Fairytale Brownies business 21 years ago.
2. David Kravetz graduated from Stanford University.
3. Many Fairytale Brownies team members (several of us in the Marketing Department and our Operations Team Leader) graduated from Arizona State University.
4. Eileen Spitalny is a member of the Creative Impact Board for the ASU Art Museum.
5. Fairytale Brownies was a finalist for the ASU Spirit of Enterprise Award.
6. Our Senior Web Designer Hilary Lee teaches at ASU.

The holiday season is a magical time … and a busy one at Fairytale Brownies. We ship brownie gifts by the truckload during the holidays. Many are shipped as Christmas gifts. But, of course, many are shipped for other reasons.
That’s why we have four beautiful and unique gift bands that are perfect for brownies shipped in December. What message do you want to send this holiday season?
Are you ready to ship brownies as holiday gifts this December? If not, check out this comment from Dehlia B. of Georgia who ordered brownies to try before Christmas shopping:

As we approach the month of December and the upcoming holidays, I find myself reminiscing about the one season we actually ran out of brownies, believe it or not!!!
It was 1997 and we were a few years into the business when we had an unexpected rush on brownies for the holidays, so mid-December we actually ran out of some of our brownie flavors. We were unable to bake anymore of the delectable Belgian chocolate brownies because our very tiny commercial kitchen had been transformed into a shipping department. We only had a limited selection of brownie flavors available, so we made due with what we had. . . . Needless to say, we've never forgotten "the season we ran out of brownies". We've definitely come a long way since then and now occupy a large production facility with plenty of space for baking and shipping, so we plan to never have that problem again!
If you've been a fan of Fairytale Brownies for a while you know that we no longer just carry our famous brownies, but over the...Read More »
This year, American Jews will celebrate something that has never happened before . . . and will never happen again. The first day of Hanukkah 2013 starts at sunset on Wednesday November 27th the night before Thanksgiving, Thursday November 28th.
Historically, Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday in November, meaning the latest it can be is November 28th. As it turns out, November 28th is the earliest Hanukkah can be.
According to this source, The Jewish calendar repeats on a 19-year cycle, and Thanksgiving repeats on a 7-year cycle, which you'd expect these two holidays to coincide every 133 years (19x7). So, the last time this would have happened would have been in 1861. However, Thanksgiving wasn't established until 1863. Furthermore, moving forward, the Jewish calendar is slowly getting out of sync with the solar calendar (there's a long technical explanation for this which I'll spare you), so this colliding of holiday's will never happen again!
However you're celebrating this historic...Read More »

Our Enchanting day in Fairyland..........
Who says you can't work hard and have fun, too? There's nothing healthier in the workplace than adding a little fun and Halloween is the perfect time for our team members to show their true colors and let their hair down! In addition to allowing our team members to dress in costume, we had a company-wide Halloween Dessert Pot Luck! Fairytale Brownies contributed to the Pot Luck by providing our very own Yummy Fairytale Caramel Pecan Cookies! I honestly don't think I've ever witnessed so many desserts and such creativity by our team members!
As we were enjoying our treats, we received our 2nd Annual Halloween visit from the cutest little cowboy in all of the southwest "Sully the Cowboy," grandson of Nancy V., CSR. As Sully left Fairyland, his only word was "FUN!" I think its safe to say we had a very enchanting day here at Fairytale Brownies!
