Fairytale Brownies prepares for the holidays in September

Wednesday, September 1, 2010 by Alyssa Andrews

It's September! Sixteen weeks from today is the Wednesday before Christmas. How's that for time flying?

No need to panic though. Fairytale Brownies has everything you need to guarantee your gifts will be well received. New tower gifts, new gourmet cookies, new gift bands, new truffle flavors - the hardest part of purchasing will be deciding who is getting what new gift!

Personally, I like the tower gifts because they include a little bit of everything we bake - brownies, Sprites, Magic Morsels and cookies. I love to reuse my boxes so once the fudge brownies are gone, something else will fill their place.

September is also is the month when our retail store goes back to winter hours. Beginning Tuesday, September 7, we will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Once the holiday season officially begins in December, we will be open Saturdays, but until then we are on a Monday through Friday schedule. Find our address and retail store hours here!

Although most of the country is enjoying some cooler temperatures, Arizona still is experiencing high 90- to 110-degree temperatures. Fairytale Brownies will continue its practice to ship all gifts in an insulated box with cold packs Monday through Wednesday. October soon will arrive with cooler temperatures and our regular Monday - Friday shipping schedule will resume. Getting brownies delivered or cookies delivered is easy!

Hmm. All of this talk about the holidays is making me want some hot chocolate. Who has the marshmallows?

Triple B: Beer, Brownies & Buzzcation!

Monday, August 23, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Last Thursday, Fairytale Brownies participated in Buzzcation (Buzzcation is mostly a networking and happy hour event attended by local media and professionals) at The District Kitchen, Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Phoenix. The event was a fundraiser to help raise money towards our KaBOOM! playground build scheduled for April 2011. The event had over 200 attendees and raised over $1,500 towards our fundraising goal!

Fairytale Brownies was there armed with brownie gifts donated for the raffle and with hundreds of gourmet brownies and new cookie flavors for attendees to indulge in. We asked attendees to try our new Caramel Pecan Cookie and Double Chocolate Cookie and then tweet about how they liked them. We had an overwhelmingly positive response to the new cookies and are very excited for their debut in a few weeks.

Altogether, Buzzcation was a great way to support a fantastic cause and have fun with Phoenix locals! If we had the chance, we'd most definitely do it again! Below are some pictures of the event.

Alyssa (Fairytale Brownies PR/Marketing), Hunter (Fairytale Brownies IT), and Hilary (Fairytale Brownies Web Designer) taking a rest toward the end of the night. Alyssa counted up the donations and we grossed over $1,500! Great thanks to Buzzcation and to all who donated!!

Jo (Fairytale Brownies Customer Service), Lisa (Fairytale Brownies Corporate Sales), Hilary (Fairytale Brownies Web Designer, and Michelle (Fairytale Brownies Accounting) having a great time together!

Another Fairytale Birthday, and a Little Surprise!

Thursday, August 12, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein

This last weekend was an extremely eventful one for me.  Not only were there two birthday parties, but as my friends here know, I was surprised by my husband with a trip to Las Vegas!  A second honeymoon...and my kiddo got to have two day sleepover at Grandma's!  She was excited.

The first party was a nice dinner for Cousin Kaitlyn, who turned 9.  She's extremely excited about being in the 4th grade this year, and loooooves Fairytale Brownies.  Last time I was at her house, I left her a peanut butter brownie to share with her little sister.  This time, I decided that it was time she had her own stash, since she's 9 now.  I brought her a Magic Morsel Dozen in all four flavors to go along with the ZhuZhu pet playset we got her.  She was SOOO pleased!

Her mom was jealous because she loves our fudgy chocolate brownies as much as her daughter does!  Knowing Kaitlyn the way I do, she'll share with everyone, so no problems there!

I brought home another brownie gift for my daughter to take to her second party on Saturday afternoon.  That was for a neighbor/friend of ours whose daughter was turning 11.  Elizabeth was thrilled to take her the best brownies in the world as part of her present.  And I'm sure she was very pleased as well.

As you can tell, I completely advocate the heavy use of Belgian chocolate brownies as great gift ideas, and they work for all ages!  Gourmet brownies = Happiness!

Belgian Chocolate Brownies for Special Occasions

Monday, June 28, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Today my husband called me and said, "Honey, we forgot to send brownies to our niece in Texas for her birthday." He was right, her birthday was 2 weeks ago and I can't believe that I forgot! So with an apologetic "Sorry, we're old and forgetful" note, I shipped her Happy Birthday Brownies today. She loves our gourmet brownies and loves to receive them for any special occasion. So, I sent her a Happy Birthday Sprite Dozen, since it has 1 of every delicious flavor we bake (Chocolate Chip and Toffee Crunch are her favorite flavors). I'm sure she'll delight in the brownie gift we are sending her as she always does.

Thank goodness for Fairytale Brownies! My gifting needs, especially for special occasions and for those people who "have everything" are taken care of! So, thank you Fairytale Brownies for the scrumptious gourmet brownie gifts! I am especially looking forward to the gourmet cookies debuting this September. My friends and family who are used to getting brownies delivered will delight in soon getting gourmet cookies AND gourmet brownies delivered :)!

Cookie Delivery Begins This Fall!

Monday, June 28, 2010 by David Kravetz
Well, after 17 years of creating the best brownie gifts anywhere, we've decided to branch out.  Fairytale Brownies began with just two flavors - walnut and plain.  Since that time we've expanded our line to include 12 flavors in three sizes (Original 3" x 3" Brownies, snack-size 3" x 1.5" Fairytale Sprites, and bite-size 1.5" x 1.5" Magic Morsels).  We've also introduced brownie trays and our most recent creation - Fairytale Truffles (bite-size gourmet brownies completely enrobed in 60% dark belgian chocolate).

After much soul searching we decided it was time to branch out beyond our brownie beginnings.  Customers sending thank you food gifts kept asking for more variety.  So the next logical step was cookies.  But these couldn't be just any cookies - they had to be worth of the Fairytale name. So after months of testing, baking, evaluating and tasting hundreds of cookie experiments, we've created two decadent and delicious cookie flavors:  Caramel Pecan and Double Chocolate.

Fairytale Cookies are made with the same premium, all-natural ingredients that we use in our brownies, including creamery butter and farm-fresh eggs.  So this fall when you're ready to send corporate gifts or ship brownies to a friend, you can feel confident that our new cookies will be as delicious and well received as the brownies you've sent before!

OMG - JUST OUT OF THIS WORLD  ****** (5 stars)
"At first I said how can they be worth the money for brownies, but boy was I wrong. With every bite, you can taste the high quality of the recipe and there are many flavors for everyone. They can each have their favorite. I guess it is true, you get what you pay for. I will wait for easy pay to buy again, but I will buy again and again and again!"

HAVE A FAIRYTALE DAY! ***** (5 stars)
"I have purchased these brownies for many years for my family, friends, co-workers, and customers. I also gave a box of Sprites to my child's teachers. These have always been of terrific quality and we have enjoyed all of the flavors. One tip... if you can't eat them all at once, put them in the freezer and take out as needed. Great warm with a little ice-cream!"

Sleepover with Fairytale Brownies

Thursday, June 10, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein

My daughter recently had her first slumber party! She invited her closest friends from school, and made a “fun-genda”. For all of you without daughters, that’s “fun” and “agenda”. Of course, her agenda included Fairytale Brownies.  She even reminded me "Mommy, make sure you bring home some fudge brownies."

The night began when moms dropped off their girls at our house. All of them wanted only one thing to start with; swimming. They all RAN to my daughter’s room, did a quick change, and were in the pool within 5 minutes. You’d never believe how fast a child can change clothes, with proper motivation. They swam for about an hour and a half, then came in to eat dinner…a kids fave: chicken nuggets and mac & cheese.

                   Original                                               Walnut

Birthday SurpriseAfter playing inside and winding down for a little while, they decided on a movie and all of them wanted a dessert. Guess what they picked? Gourmet Brownies! My kiddo had her usual Original, as well as her BFF, and her friend Victoria asked for Walnut. What a surprise to me! They all downed those moist, delicious brownies! Her friend Mya even went as far as to tell Victoria that one bite of these fudgy chocolate brownies is a life changing snack. (Not those exact words, but close enough.) I think I may have made some Belgian chocolate brownie addicts out of my daughter’s best friends. Is that a bad thing? Not really, as long as they don’t eat them for breakfast. (although, in the wisdom of Bill Cosby, they do contain flour and eggs, so it’s possible). And, by the way, HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY, ELIZABETH!

Thank You Gift Idea

Monday, June 7, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Recently, my husband and I purchased a small piece of Real Estate in the small town of Queen Creek, AZ. Due to the economy, it was an extremely arduous task to complete the entire purchase process. We really "worked" our realtor; she definitely earned her commission on that deal! On document signing day, my husband and I went to the title office to complete the paperwork. We went after I had gotten off of work and I was still "in uniform" (still wearing my Fairytale Brownies logo shirt). The ladies in the office noticed my shirt, and commented that they knew who Fairytale Brownies were and proceeded to harass me because I had not brought any of our Belgian Chocolate Brownies with me!

So, as I do every time somebody asks me for a fudgy chocolate brownie sample, I promised that I would send brownies to their office right away. So to say "Thank You" to our realtor, loan officer, and title company, we sent them each boxes of Fairytale Brownies. Not only are they the best brownies around (hands-down!), they make excellent Thank You Food Gifts. I sent them each a Thank You 8-Sprite Gift Favor which contains 1 Original, Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Pecan, Toffee Crunch, Walnut and White Chocolate Sprites (Sprites are our 1/2 size brownies that measure 1.5" x 3").

I did receive Thank You messages from our gift recipients; they all loved the gourmet brownies. I even had our realtor tell me that she is going to start sending brownies to her clients as Thank You Gifts for her business! For more information, or to order brownies online, visit us at brownies.com

Gourmet Brownie Photo Shoot!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010 by Kari Gayes
Erin and I are spending this week at a gourmet brownie photo shoot to prepare our brownie gifts catalog for the fall and winter of 2010. We've been working the team at Rick Gayle Studio for several years, and we love the work they do for us. And they sure know how to have a good time doing it! :) We're shooting a little differently than we have in the past to freshen up the catalog, so I  thought I'd give you a little behind-the-scenes peek at how we shoot our fudgy brownies in the photo studio.

Here's a wide shot of the whole studio:

Jill in the background finding and prepping the best brownies of the bunch while Kim and I look at cut Fairytale Truffles (chocolate-covered brownies) to choose which one to feature:

Send Brownies With Reliable UPS Service

Saturday, May 15, 2010 by David Kravetz
Well, I just couldn't resist sharing this picture!  About a year ago Fairytale Brownies began using UPS as our exclusive shipping carrier and we couldn't be more happy with the service we've received.  With UPS we can ship brownies to destinations worldwide with fast and reliable service.

Recently I was invited to participate in a UPS customer appreciation golf outing.  When I pulled up to one of the tee boxes and saw this UPS "truck" I just started laughing.  There was a photographer taking pictures of each group of golfers and I told him that I just had to have a picture of me driving this sporty vehicle.  I'm told that this miniature delivery truck is used for promotional events such as delivering the game ball out to the field for kickoff, or as a pace car for racing events.  But the folks around here that saw the picture wanted to know if I had some gourmet brownies packed in the back.  Of course I said that is was full of brownie gifts.

In just two years we'll be celebrating our 20th year in business and hopefully we'll be able to have this truck at our anniversary party.  We can hand out our fudgy chocolate brownies right from the back of the truck.

Thanks to all the great people at UPS for providing us such great service!!

Diet vs. the Fairytale Brownie

Wednesday, May 12, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein

Can willpower alone overcome the fudgy brownie goodness of a Fairytale Brownie? We shall see...

My husband Jeff, in a bid to make himself healthier, decided in February that it was time for him to go on a diet. He was not happy with how he felt, and decided to change it, like most of us do. At that time, I wasn’t here at Fairytale Brownies, so he had few temptations to overcome. Two short months, and quite a few pant sizes later, he had lost about 30 pounds, and I was invited back to Fairytale Brownies. Needless to say, he loves the rich, fudgy chocolate brownies as much as I do. When I brought some home, since he had been so good, I made sure to include two of our favorite flavors as a splurge for him…Peanut Butter and Cream Cheese.

That beautiful purple and white bag barely made it in the house before he and my daughter started looking through it to see what gourmet brownies I had brought them. (Check out my previous blogs for the kiddo’s faves.) And, dessert that night was courtesy of Fairytale Brownies in my house!

Jeff has been very good, I must say. Once that original craving was out of the way for gourmet chocolate brownies, he didn’t ask for any more, and has been sticking to his healthier ways. He’s still dropping the pounds, and is over six miles a day on his exercise bike (which is no longer a dust collector). I’ve extremely proud of his accomplishment, and his willpower. So, I’ll bring him home some of the Sugar Free brownies to help satisfy that sweet tooth and celebrate his healthy accomplishment. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews from customers who have eaten the sugar free brownies, so I’m thinking they’re a great treat for him. I fully subscribe to the idea of “everything in moderation” and the treat of a wonderful, decadent, fudgy gourmet brownie makes the week of dieting worth it.

Have a great week!

Brownies on Tour!

Wednesday, May 12, 2010 by Kari Gayes
Last night, my husband, Nick, and I drove down to Tucson to see the a capella group Straight No Chaser perform as part of our anniversary celebration (3 years today!). It was extra special for us, as Ryan, one of the ten members of the group, is an old friend and fraternity brother of Nick's. We love music, so we were excited to hear them sing, but also to get to see Ryan for the first time in years. So, we took some fudgy chocolate brownies for him to share with the guys as they continue their tour. The show was amazing, and we got lots of comments about our box of gourmet brownies as we made our way down the meet and greet line after. We got a message this morning saying that the Fairytale Sprite 48 we took was the best gift we could have given 10 guys who are living on a tour bus for months.

Here's a picture of Ryan (on the right) and Nick right after we handed over the brownies.

Thanks SNC for a great concert, and I hope you're enjoying the brownies!

Congratulations Gifts For Graduates

Monday, May 3, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Talk about elated! I just turned in my last assignment of the 2009 Spring semester! I only have 1 more semester to go (I currently attend Arizona State University), and then I walk with my Master's Degree in Science and Technology Management with emphasis in Graphics. It's been an extremely looooong and arduous journey, but the personal accomplishment I feel along with meeting the career goals I've set for myself are my best rewards!

Even though I am not graduating this semester, I have a niece who lives in Waco Texas that is graduating with her second degree from McLennan Community College. She is graduating Phi Theta Kappa and we are so proud of her. She sent us her personalized graduation announcement this past weekend. We are very sad that we can't be there in person for commencement, but I fully plan on sending her a congratulations gift for her accomplishment. Last Christmas she requested more of those "delicious fudge brownies" from me (I send brownies on special occasions). Of course she is referring to Fairytale Brownies! So I figured that along with the monetary gift I am sending her, I'd send brownies along too! Her favorite is the Mint Chocolate brownie, so I am planning on sending her a Congratulations Dozen (pictured right) with 12 Mint Chocolate brownies inside!

Know anybody who is graduating...high school, college, trade school, etc? Why not order brownies from Fairytale Brownies to congratulate them of their accomplishment? Adding a gift of gourmet brownies to their celebration is a tasteful and delicious addition to their success! My niece will be receiving her Congratulations Dozen this Friday.....when will yours arrive? Visit brownies.com to order brownies online!

Fairytale Brownies Provides Corporate Gifts for the Arcadia High Titans

Monday, May 3, 2010 by David Kravetz
I've written a few blog posts recently about supporting my daughter's new high school, Arcadia High in Phoenix, AZ. In the fall, we bought a scoreboard sign for the football team.  In the winter, we bought a gymnasium banner for the basketball team. Well, it's spring and baseball season has begun.  So we recently purchased a commemorative brick for the new baseball field. The high school just finished a three year renovation and the baseball field was the final piece of construction.  Our "brownie brick" will be there for many years to come, and it's a nice reminder for people to buy brownies online when they look down to read all the bricks.

In addition to the ads, we regularly supply brownie gifts to the teachers and staff at the school.  And of course, my daughter always has a steady supply of fudgy brownies in her lunch box every day.  At this point she gets daily requests from friends for specific flavors.  Like all of us at Fairytale Brownies, she loves spreading joy through gourmet chocolate brownies!

My First Week

Thursday, April 29, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein

When I was offered the position here at Fairytale Brownies, I jumped for joy! I get the opportunity to work with the wonderful people here at Fairytale, and be able to spread happiness and chocolate love through the wonderful brownie gifts we make here. Of course, I had to share my wonderful news with my family, so I let my daughter, who at 7 is still surprising me, in on the news, only to get “So when do you get to bring us home some brownies?” And, “I want Original and Chocolate Chip!”

She knows that these are the best brownies around! (She has great taste!)  Needless to say, my first day here, I made SURE I bought some decadent gourmet brownies to share. She was VERY pleased. As my first week continued, I had the opportunity to ship brownies to our soldiers overseas in appreciation for their service to our country and send brownies to all the deserving Moms all over the country from their very grateful children.  And, at a discount too, since many of our Mothers' Day items are on sale right now as well!

So, remember Mother's Day is May 9th!  Don't forget to order some delicious gourmet brownies for those special ladies in your life! Have a wonderful week!
