OMG - JUST OUT OF THIS WORLD  ****** (5 stars)
"At first I said how can they be worth the money for brownies, but boy was I wrong. With every bite, you can taste the high quality of the recipe and there are many flavors for everyone. They can each have their favorite. I guess it is true, you get what you pay for. I will wait for easy pay to buy again, but I will buy again and again and again!"

HAVE A FAIRYTALE DAY! ***** (5 stars)
"I have purchased these brownies for many years for my family, friends, co-workers, and customers. I also gave a box of Sprites to my child's teachers. These have always been of terrific quality and we have enjoyed all of the flavors. One tip... if you can't eat them all at once, put them in the freezer and take out as needed. Great warm with a little ice-cream!"

More Brownie Photo Shoot!

Tuesday, June 15, 2010 by Kari Gayes
Erin, David and I are back at Rick Gayle Studio taking photos for our holiday gourmet brownie gift catalogs, and I thought I would share a few behind-the-scenes photos. We've been taking pictures of new towers and tins that will be full of fudgy brownies for the holidays, and they all look delicious. Today is the first day we've taken photos of our new Fairytale Cookies, and we are excited to offer customers the opportunity of getting cookies delivered along with our brownies. They are looking and tasting good!

Here's Erin with a plate of cosmetic sponges that our food stylist, Kim, uses to prop up our brownies.

And here I am tying ribbon around our monstrous new 6-box Fairytale Tower. It's 20 inches tall, and full of Fairytale Brownies and Cookies and other goodies!

Gourmet Brownies Delivered FREE to APO/FPO Addresses!

Monday, June 14, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Today is June 14th, which in the U.S. is Flag Day. According to the site USflag.org, the 4th of July was traditionally celebrated as "America's Birthday," but the idea of an annual day specifically celebrating the Flag is believed to have first originated in 1885. Then in 1894, the governor of New York directed that June 14th be designated Flag Day and Flags be displayed on all public buildings. Thus, sparked many patriotic programs throughout the US. But it was not until August 3rd, 1949 that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th as National Flag Day.

On days like today, I often reflect on what it means to me and I find myself thinking about our Military servicemen and women stationed around the world. Chest swelling with pride, I'd like to shout from the rooftops that I am proud to be an American, and send a heartfelt "Thank You" to our Military who remind me that freedom is not free.

Though freedom is not free, we can still show our appreciation and support by sending our soldiers care packages full of homemade treats for free. One way that Fairytale Brownies shows our support and appreciation is by offering Free Shipping on any gift that goes to an APO or FPO address year round. This helps our military families who send brownies to their loved ones, or even those who have anonymously adopted a soldier to send a gift of thanks and support.

Sleepover with Fairytale Brownies

Thursday, June 10, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein

My daughter recently had her first slumber party! She invited her closest friends from school, and made a “fun-genda”. For all of you without daughters, that’s “fun” and “agenda”. Of course, her agenda included Fairytale Brownies.  She even reminded me "Mommy, make sure you bring home some fudge brownies."

The night began when moms dropped off their girls at our house. All of them wanted only one thing to start with; swimming. They all RAN to my daughter’s room, did a quick change, and were in the pool within 5 minutes. You’d never believe how fast a child can change clothes, with proper motivation. They swam for about an hour and a half, then came in to eat dinner…a kids fave: chicken nuggets and mac & cheese.

                   Original                                               Walnut

Birthday SurpriseAfter playing inside and winding down for a little while, they decided on a movie and all of them wanted a dessert. Guess what they picked? Gourmet Brownies! My kiddo had her usual Original, as well as her BFF, and her friend Victoria asked for Walnut. What a surprise to me! They all downed those moist, delicious brownies! Her friend Mya even went as far as to tell Victoria that one bite of these fudgy chocolate brownies is a life changing snack. (Not those exact words, but close enough.) I think I may have made some Belgian chocolate brownie addicts out of my daughter’s best friends. Is that a bad thing? Not really, as long as they don’t eat them for breakfast. (although, in the wisdom of Bill Cosby, they do contain flour and eggs, so it’s possible). And, by the way, HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY, ELIZABETH!

Gourmet Brownie Photo Shoot!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010 by Kari Gayes
Erin and I are spending this week at a gourmet brownie photo shoot to prepare our brownie gifts catalog for the fall and winter of 2010. We've been working the team at Rick Gayle Studio for several years, and we love the work they do for us. And they sure know how to have a good time doing it! :) We're shooting a little differently than we have in the past to freshen up the catalog, so I  thought I'd give you a little behind-the-scenes peek at how we shoot our fudgy brownies in the photo studio.

Here's a wide shot of the whole studio:

Send Brownies With Reliable UPS Service

Saturday, May 15, 2010 by David Kravetz
Well, I just couldn't resist sharing this picture!  About a year ago Fairytale Brownies began using UPS as our exclusive shipping carrier and we couldn't be more happy with the service we've received.  With UPS we can ship brownies to destinations worldwide with fast and reliable service.

Recently I was invited to participate in a UPS customer appreciation golf outing.  When I pulled up to one of the tee boxes and saw this UPS "truck" I just started laughing.  There was a photographer taking pictures of each group of golfers and I told him that I just had to have a picture of me driving this sporty vehicle.  I'm told that this miniature delivery truck is used for promotional events such as delivering the game ball out to the field for kickoff, or as a pace car for racing events.  But the folks around here that saw the picture wanted to know if I had some gourmet brownies packed in the back.  Of course I said that is was full of brownie gifts.

In just two years we'll be celebrating our 20th year in business and hopefully we'll be able to have this truck at our anniversary party.  We can hand out our fudgy chocolate brownies right from the back of the truck.

Thanks to all the great people at UPS for providing us such great service!!

Brownies on Tour!

Wednesday, May 12, 2010 by Kari Gayes
Last night, my husband, Nick, and I drove down to Tucson to see the a capella group Straight No Chaser perform as part of our anniversary celebration (3 years today!). It was extra special for us, as Ryan, one of the ten members of the group, is an old friend and fraternity brother of Nick's. We love music, so we were excited to hear them sing, but also to get to see Ryan for the first time in years. So, we took some fudgy chocolate brownies for him to share with the guys as they continue their tour. The show was amazing, and we got lots of comments about our box of gourmet brownies as we made our way down the meet and greet line after. We got a message this morning saying that the Fairytale Sprite 48 we took was the best gift we could have given 10 guys who are living on a tour bus for months.

Here's a picture of Ryan (on the right) and Nick right after we handed over the brownies.

Thanks SNC for a great concert, and I hope you're enjoying the brownies!

Congratulations Gifts For Graduates

Monday, May 3, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Talk about elated! I just turned in my last assignment of the 2009 Spring semester! I only have 1 more semester to go (I currently attend Arizona State University), and then I walk with my Master's Degree in Science and Technology Management with emphasis in Graphics. It's been an extremely looooong and arduous journey, but the personal accomplishment I feel along with meeting the career goals I've set for myself are my best rewards!

Even though I am not graduating this semester, I have a niece who lives in Waco Texas that is graduating with her second degree from McLennan Community College. She is graduating Phi Theta Kappa and we are so proud of her. She sent us her personalized graduation announcement this past weekend. We are very sad that we can't be there in person for commencement, but I fully plan on sending her a congratulations gift for her accomplishment. Last Christmas she requested more of those "delicious fudge brownies" from me (I send brownies on special occasions). Of course she is referring to Fairytale Brownies! So I figured that along with the monetary gift I am sending her, I'd send brownies along too! Her favorite is the Mint Chocolate brownie, so I am planning on sending her a Congratulations Dozen (pictured right) with 12 Mint Chocolate brownies inside!

Know anybody who is graduating...high school, college, trade school, etc? Why not order brownies from Fairytale Brownies to congratulate them of their accomplishment? Adding a gift of gourmet brownies to their celebration is a tasteful and delicious addition to their success! My niece will be receiving her Congratulations Dozen this Friday.....when will yours arrive? Visit brownies.com to order brownies online!

Catalogs, catalogs, catalogs!

Tuesday, April 27, 2010 by Kari Gayes
Our graphic designer, Erin, and I are deeply entrenched in the process of creating our gourmet Belgian chocolate brownie gifts catalog for the upcoming holiday season. I know, most of you won't even think about ordering brownies for the holidays for at least another six or seven months, but we have a gourmet brownie photo shoot in two short weeks!

Erin is working on a new layout for the catalogs beginning in September that I think you will all love. It's still in progress, but it is beautiful, and I think will make our fudgy brownies look even more decadent. Meanwhile, I'm working on the final new product and photo shoot details so we can have the best selection of brownie gifts available when you are ready to send brownies to your friends, loved ones, colleagues and clients this fall. I can't wait to show you a behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot, so keep your eyes peeled in a couple of weeks for that!

Saturday, April 17, 2010 by Kim Silva

In 1952 the IAAP (International Association of Administrative Professionals) began honoring administrative professionals by sponsoring Administrative Professionals Week and Administrative Professionals Day, which is now considered one of the largest celebrated workplace events outside of major holidays.  It is always the last full week in April, so this year it begins on April 19th, with Administrative Professionals Day falling on Wednesday, April 21st.

Christmas in April!

Friday, April 16, 2010 by Kari Gayes
People are always surprised to hear members of the Fairytale Brownies marketing team talking about Christmas all year round. You would think we get a break from it, but truth be told, we're constantly thinking and talking about what kinds of gourmet brownie gifts our customers will be looking for come December. Right now, Erin is working on new bands for our Christmas and Holiday fudge brownie gift boxes. To the right, you can see her Pantone swatches that she is using to choose the color palette for each band.

Here is a sneak peek of Erin working on the beginnings of the new Christmas band design. It's coming along! She's also been hard at work on the design for the towers I talked about last week, but I don't want to give too much away, so I'm not going to show you. But I will say that these brownie towers are going to be gorgeous!

My Anniversary with Fairytale Brownies

Thursday, April 8, 2010 by Tanika Richards
On March 24th, myself and another co-worker celebrated our 2 year anniversary with Fairytale Brownies. What a wonderful achievement; 2 years with an incredible Gourmet Brownie company. At our monthly company lunch, Eileen Spitalny and David Kravetz received two beautiful bouquets of roses from a company that has the ability to put your companies logo or a picture on the petals. As a selfless gesture, Eileen gave the flowers including the etched glass vases to my fellow anniversary co worker, Jennifer, and I.  Thank you Fairytale Brownies for 2 wonderful years, and I look forward to many more to come!

80 and Counting

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 by Ellie Perry
For my Mom's 75th birthday I ordered Custom Gift Favors from Fairytale Brownies to hand out to everyone who attended the birthday dinner.  I had her name and the date printed on the box lid along with whimsical balloons (Here's an example of what the box looked like below [my mom's name isn't Andrew Smith, ha ha]).  The gift favors contained delicious gourmet brownies.  Her favorite flavors are Toffee Crunch and Walnut, so I selected the Choose Your Own flavor option.  Mom thinks Fairytale Brownies makes the best brownies ever.

We'll be busy planning Mom's 80th birthday celebration soon.  We want it to be even more fun than her 75th party.  Friends and family from all around the country will be attending.  And Fairytale Brownies will be there to help us celebrate!

Brownie Research & Development!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 by Kari Gayes
Whew! We've had a very busy start to 2010 here at Fairytale Brownies

Today, I'm working on some gourmet brownie gift towers we're going to debut in our Fall 2010 catalogs, and I wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes look at a new product in development. We've packed these white sample boxes full of delicious fudge brownies, cookies (can you spot them?), coffee, cocoa and cashews to see what fits in the towers.

Next, we'll analyze the cost of each gourmet brownie flavor that we hope to include, so we can make sure the gifts fit into the right price range for our customers who order brownies in these kinds of gifts.

On the design front, our graphic designer Erin is working on how the boxes should look so that we create the most enchanting gift we can. There will be plenty of our signature Fairytale purple and brown in one set of towers, but a couple of others will be designed as part of our Christmas and Holiday gift collections.

Arizona CPA's Learn About Mail Order Brownies

Sunday, April 4, 2010 by David Kravetz
On Thursday, March 25th Fairytale Brownies hosted a group from the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants.  The event was organized by our Controller Donna, our Bookkeeper Michelle, and Alyssa in Public Relations.  The group of 30 CPA's had a behind-the-scenes tour of our brownie bakery and learned how we create the best brownies in the world.

After a quick introduction, we all donned hairnets and headed into the kitchen.  We watched our Shipping and Baking Teams in action and then went upstairs to observe customers buy brownies over the phone with the Customer Service Team.  We took a quick look at the Sales, Marketing, IT, and Accounting Teams and then went into the conference room for a presentation.

The CPA's all earned continuing education credits for attending the tour and presentation.  At the end of the tour we went downstairs where they could all buy brownies at a special discount.  Everyone had a great time!

Here I am explaining how we wrap our handcrafted fudge brownies.

Each CPA received a goodie bag filled with gourmet brownies!

Decadent Birthday Brownie

Friday, March 26, 2010 by David Kravetz
My daughter Lily loves giving brownies to all her new friends in high school. One of her best friends Jeffrey recently celebrated his 15th birthday, so she decided to make him the ultimate fudge brownies.  I brought home two of our Original 8" x 8" one pound brownie trays.  We sell these trays at a number of gourmet grocery stores as a take-home chocolate brownie treat.  Lily frosted the first giant brownie and then stacked another on top.  She then added more frosting to the whole thing and piped on her birthday message.  Jeffrey was so surprised and said it ranked up there with the best brownies of all time!

Over the years we've talked about introducing a "birthday brownie kit" where we send a big brownie along with frosting, candles, and other goodies to create your own custom birthday treat.  During the creation of this decadent brownie, Lily reminded me that it would make the perfect birthday food gift.  So keep an eye out, you may see this new product in the near future!

Fairytale Brownies Post- Holiday Party

Sunday, March 21, 2010 by Tanika Richards
This past weekend (03/13/2010) Fairytale Brownies held it's post holiday 2009 party at the historic Stockyards Restaurant in Phoenix. The party was very enjoyable and we got a chance to meet each others spouses and family members. It was well planned, with balloon sculptures, pre printed menus, wonderful food selection, magical entertainment and excellent door prizes. The atmosphere was light and joyous, with dinner being served and dessert around the corner, you might have thought that we would have enjoyed our delicious and decadent fudgy brownies with maybe some vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and little chunks of brownie bites on top. Well that wonderful dream was not the case, we had a nice fruit shortcake for dessert. So needless to say on Monday morning I had to get my brownie fix. I placed an order for a dozen chocolate chip Magic Morsels. I love the Magic Morsel size (1.5 x 1.5) just the perfect pick me up snack for a chocolate brownie craving. lol

Here is the customer service team members with spouses and Family.

Holiday brownies already?! Tell us what you want!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 by Kari Gayes

Most people don't think much about the December holidays until at least Thanksgiving, or even until December actually rolls around. Not so here at Fairytale Brownies. We started talking about our 2010 Holiday product line and catalogs in January. It's a little overwhelming at times, but we constantly think about what our customers will want when they order brownies for the holidays.

This is a big part of my job as our marketing coordinator. We have to think about which fudge brownies (and now cookies!) our customers will love as well as what kinds of packaging you look for when you buy brownie gifts.

We've been talking about a lot of ideas for the last couple of months, and I'm curious what you think. Share your ideas for us in the comments section below, no matter how crazy you think they might be. If we decide to use your idea, I'll send you a thank you brownie gift to show our appreciation for your help.

Put your thinking caps on and tell us what you want!

Fairytale Brownies PARTY!

Monday, March 15, 2010 by Hilary Lee
This last Saturday, Fairytale Brownies held it's 2009 holiday party at the historic Stockyards Restaurant in Phoenix, AZ. It was a bittersweet party for the company; we were all so appreciative to be there. Because of the economic climate, it has been difficult for folks to buy brownies and as a result it has been a strenuous few years for the company. Especially with business and consumer gift giving taking a huge industry hit. During 2009, we went through very rigorous cost cutting measures and even tabled new products slated Holiday 2009/Spring 2010 debut. In addition to our cost cutting measures, we opted to forgo a company holiday party or any holiday related bonuses.

With the great planning and foresight of co-owners David and Eileen, Fairytale Brownies was able to recover from 2008, and turn 2009 into a profitable year for the company. To celebrate, we resurrected our 2009 holiday party plans and celebrated in style! We all had an fantastic time at this great venue. The meal was rockin' and the entertainment was great. We brought in Magician Michael Paul who amazed us with his card and coin tricks. As I mentioned before, it was a bittersweet celebration for us - we are just so grateful to work for such passionate people who are dedicated to making the world a sweeter place though gourmet brownies! Thank you David & Eileen! Check out some of the pictures from our party below!

David & Eileen giving their toast to everyone.

Send Brownies - A Fairytale Dream Come True!

Tuesday, March 9, 2010 by Hilary Lee
I just wanted to share a really great blog article that was written by Geoff Fox, who is a weatherman on WTNH New Channel 8 in Connecticut. Geoff's wife Helaine decided to send brownies as a holiday gift this last December and the scheduled delivery date was set for December 21st. The following story is from Geoff's blog.

"This blog is often the best place to give a kiss on the cheek to a business which has gone above and beyond the call. That's especially true of David Kravetz at Fairytale Brownies (brownies.com) who came through and saved the day in the midst of their/our Christmas rush. Fairytale Brownies is a Phoenix based business. This is not a case of someone being nice because they've watched me on TV for the last 25 years. Helaine sent a gift to a friend. The package tracking info said it would be there on the 21st.  When Helaine hadn't heard from the friend by the 23rd she called. No delivery! Except that's not what the tracking data said. UPS said the package had been delivered to her apartment building.

Helaine called Fairytale and spoke with David. Whether he always answers the phones or was drawn in for Christmas isn't clear. He saw we'd been good customers over time. He didn't need to see any more. David said he'd make it right even though Fairytale could have defensibly claimed it was a UPS problem. As someone with a stake in the business, he knew this was where long term relationships are made and lost. If Helaine would provide a daytime address, he'd sent it overnight at his expense.

This is a Christmas story with a happy ending. The brownies arrived the next day. Thanks David! The Foxes of Connecticut really appreciate your kindness and wanted everyone to know! Oh, and the brownies are really yummy!"

Our goal at Fairytale Brownies is to provide the highest quality products and incomparable service. That's why we offer our "One Pure Promise" which states from choosing the finest Belgian chocolate to our customer's last bite, we are uncompromising in our standards for product quality and customer service. Our "One Pure Promise" is supported by our unconditional guarantee: If you or your gift recipients are ever dissatisfied - even a little bit - we will cheerfully do whatever it takes to make things right, whether it's replacing the brownies or issuing a credit or refund! Thank you, Geoff for sharing your story! You can read Geoff's blog post here  http://www.geofffox.com/MT/archives/tag/christmas
