It's official. . . summer is here! June 20th kicked off the summer season. Many of you are very familiar with the Dog Days of Summer; it usually begins in most states in July when the weather is the hottest and muggiest. In the state of Arizona, the monsoon season officially started on June 15th, so we are well into the "Dog Days of Summer" here! Drink lots of water, stay cool, and wear your sunscreen! Great advice for certain but I say, "where's the ice cream?"
What is summertime without this yummy, sweet, cool treat? Afterall, July is approaching fast and is National Ice Cream Month! Ronald Reagan was a very smart man for declaring the hottest month of the year a National Holiday! I can't think of anything better to pair with ice cream than gourmet chocolate brownies! I've made just about every dessert you can possibly make with these Belgian Chocolate Brownies and recently got a little creative and tried something new! Oh, my! Try this recipe and I guarantee you will survive the Dog Days of Summer, too!
To stay cool and hydrated, I came up with this fun recipe that includes two of my favorite summertime desserts: Ice Cream & Toffee Crunch Fairytale Brownies!
Fairytale Brownie Shakes
- 3 Fairytale Brownies (any flavor will do)
- 3/4 cup of milk
- 4 1/2 cups of Ice Cream (any flavor will do)
Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth; top with whipped cream and caramel sauce, Chill Out.
