Kim's Brownie Operations

Kim Silva, Operations Team LeaderHello!  I'm Kim Silva, the Operations Team Leader for Fairytale Brownies.  Throughout my many years with Fairytale Brownies I have spent time working in various roles within the organization, learning along the way what it takes to make a company great, and great is what Fairytale Brownies is - from our delicious gourmet products, to our dedicated and talented staff!

It's been an awesome experience watching Fairytale Brownies grow and to be a part of it since the beginning.  I am very fortunate to be involved with such an incredible organization.  From the days of being a small start-up business where we peddled our gourmet brownies at street fairs and farmer's markets, to a now very successful mail order, retail and wholesale business with thousands of customers across the world!  In my current role I oversee the Operations for the business, which includes Production, Fulfillment, Human Resources, Service and New Product Development.

Well, it's that time of year when we have just finished the holidays and we can start looking forward to the next season at Fairytale Brownies.  We plan all year long and it seems to just come and go so fast, I can hardly believe it. In 2012 we'll be working on a new line of bars,...Read More » »

A new holiday tradition, Fairytale Brownies Pecan Brownie Pie

Wednesday, November 23, 2011 by Kim Silva
In my family we cherish traditions, especially at the holidays.  A few years ago I started to treat guests at our traditional holiday meals to Fairytale Brownies for dessert.  We have various pies with all the fixings, but I wanted to do a spin on a fudgy chocolate pecan pie - which our family loves.  I also wanted to keep it simple since there are so many other treats to enjoy for the holidays, not to mention the prep-work and cleanup that goes along with them.  So, I took some pecan Fairytale...Read More » »

Wow, I cannot believe that the holidays are just around the corner.  It seems to have come really fast this year, quicker than previous years for some reason.  At Fairytale Brownies we are planning year round for this special time of year, and this year it has been busier than ever.

We introduced new cookies to our line, Peanut Butter and Mint Chocolate, and we are already preparing for next year's introductions, which will include a new Blondie bar line. . .  We've been very busy in the brownie...Read More » »

Deep Fried Fairytale Brownies??

Saturday, October 29, 2011 by Kim Silva
I realize that every State Fair boasts their food offerings, particularly the crazy deep fried selections trending over the last few years.  I guess I didn't realize how crazy it had actually become.

My husband and I recently attended the Arizona State Fair to participate in the state wine competition (my husband was the emcee, I just tagged along) and I couldn't believe the array of deep fried fare now available.  I kept thinking to myself, what about having something simple like a really...Read More » »

Fairytale Brownies and Cookies - Great Treats for Great Causes!

Saturday, September 24, 2011 by Kim Silva
My niece, Sophia, recently took on the task at school of raising money for the local homeless shelter in El Paso, TX in order to support the animals living at the shelter with their families.  They hosted a bake sale at school and I thought it would be awesome for her to have something special to sell.  Immediately Fairytale Brownies and Fairytale Cookies came to mind. . .  they are such special gourmet treats, I just knew the local folks would enjoy having something unique and delicious to...Read More » »

The 2011 Holiday Season has begun at Fairytale Brownies!

Saturday, September 10, 2011 by Kim Silva
Gourmet Brownie GIftsI was talking to my husband earlier today and was mentioning some upcoming things about the holidays. . . he was somewhat taken aback and said "what are you talking about, the holidays are quite a ways off"?!  Well, I had to remind him that in my world at Fairytale Brownies, that time is NOW.  When we think of the holiday season, it's not just Christmas or December we're talking about, but everything else that happens from September through December.

We have most of our holiday teams on board and...Read More » »

Fairytale Brownies- Sure to bring a smile!

Saturday, July 23, 2011 by Kim Silva

One day last week I drove into our cul de sac and saw some mail lying in the middle of the street - I think with all the dust storms we've had recently it must have blown out of a mailbox, it was somewhat weathered.  I picked it up and saw that it belonged to our neighbors, so I proceeded to their front door to deliver their mail.  Upon delivery, my neighbor (who I don't know very well) started to ask if I was the one who worked at Fairytale Brownies. . . . . I answered proudly, "yep,...
