This has been an extremely eventful week here at Fairytale Brownies. As our loyal readers know, one of our Customer Service Team members is having a baby. Well, she's due anytime now, and we decided to throw her a Fairytale Surprise Party!
Needless to day, any good party here at Fairytale includes the best brownies on earth! (No, the cake is cake, brownies were later.) Tanika was so surprised and pleased...and I hope Mackel will be pleased with all the love shown by all our people here, and I'm sure he will be.
On Tuesday, we're kicking our season into high gear with the arrival of our seasonal employees here in Customer Service. They will be here until just before Christmas to help us send brownies, cookies, and all of our other corporate food gifts for the holiday season. We have one who is with us for his fourth season, and has started with us already! Welcome back Tony "The Confrontation" Sanders!
As a side note, Rosh Hashanah will commence at sundown on September 8th this year, so, Happy New Year!
I am writing this blog on behalf of our Human Resources Assistant, Janet. Janet recently sent a package of fudge brownies to her cousin Liz, and Liz's grandkids, Carson and Riley. Carson and Riley were so excited about the brownie gift that they decided to create a homemade waffle recipe using the best brownies, Fairytale Brownies! Fairytale Chocolate Chip Banana Waffles
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 and 3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups all purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large or 2 small bananas (mashed)
1 crumbled up Chocolate Chip Fairytale Brownie
Directions:
Preheat Waffle Iron
In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs until fluffy
Add remaining ingredients and mix together
Spray waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray
Pour mix into hot waffle iron and cook until golden brown.
Every month during the off season, Fairytale Brownies team members gather for an all staff meeting that includes lunch and a celebration of staff birthdays and anniversaries. For the last few months, we've been reviewing each department's duties and procedures. We call these gatherings, "Learning Lunches."
The Marketing Team (Catalog, Web, PR, Corporate Sales and Wholesale) shared its procedures today with a friendly game of Fairytale Jeopardy!
Emcee Eileen (pictured in top photo) read the clues from five Marketing categories (Fairytale Potpourri; C's The Day; Around The World; Sell, Sell, Sell; and It's In The Mail) while three different teams vied to answer with the most correct questions.
Team Brownie: "Around the World for 100, Eileen." Eileen: "Also known for its beer, this European country produces the fine chocolate we use in our brownies." (A bell rings.) Eileen: "Team Sprites, your answer?" Team Sprites: "What is Belgium?" Eileen: "That is correct!"

Some of the answers were a little tricky, so our Marketing Judges were called upon to determine a question's correctness. You can barely see our judges, Kari and Holly, way in the back of this photo.
The first-place team received mini board games for each member, while second- and third-place teams received "lovely" parting gifts of their own.
I know we've posted about our soon-to-be-launched Fairytale Cookies before, but I have to share some of the feedback we've gotten from early tasters. These new cookies come in two flavors (Double Chocolate and Caramel Pecan), and come in the same gift packaging as our gourmet brownies, so you can have your cookies delivered the same way you send brownies.

I am enjoying the sights of Portland, Oregon, this week, while sending my son off to dental school.
We left the Arizona desert Saturday and began the 20-hour drive to the much cooler mecca we call the Pacific Northwest. Of course we brought with us the perfect comfort food - gourmet brownies from Fairytale Brownies. Erin, David and I are back at Rick Gayle Studio taking photos for our holiday gourmet brownie gift catalogs, and I thought I would share a few behind-the-scenes photos. We've been taking pictures of new towers and tins that will be full of fudgy brownies for the holidays, and they all look delicious. Today is the first day we've taken photos of our new Fairytale Cookies, and we are excited to offer customers the opportunity of getting cookies delivered along with our brownies. They are looking and tasting good!

Recently, my husband and I purchased a small piece of Real Estate in the small town of Queen Creek, AZ. Due to the economy, it was an extremely arduous task to complete the entire purchase process. We really "worked" our realtor; she definitely earned her commission on that deal! On document signing day, my husband and I went to the title office to complete the paperwork. We went after I had gotten off of work and I was still "in uniform" (still wearing my Fairytale Brownies logo shirt). The ladies in the office noticed my shirt, and commented that they knew who Fairytale Brownies were and proceeded to harass me because I had not brought any of our Belgian Chocolate Brownies with me!
So, as I do every time somebody asks me for a fudgy chocolate brownie sample, I promised that I would send brownies to their office right away. So to say "Thank You" to our realtor, loan officer, and title company, we sent them each boxes of Fairytale Brownies. As I mentioned last week, we had a summer kickoff party here at Fairytale Brownies last Wednesday. All 33 of us took a break from baking gourmet brownies, packing and shipping brownie gifts and figuring out what makes people want to buy brownies for a couple hours of fun in the sun. David put together a fun video of the party, and I thought it would be fun to give you a little behind-the-scenes peek at our party at the Fairytale Bakery. You might notice that we also got to sample some of our forthcoming Fairytale Cookies. They are coming right along, and each batch is more delicious than the last. I can't wait to add them to our food gift product line this fall!
I admit, my daughter Elizabeth is not a picky eater. There are very few foods that she will utterly refuse, and our delicious, fudgy brownies CERTAINLY aren’t one of those. However, she has a cute BFF…and her BFF (best friend forever) is an extremely picky eater. When she comes to spend the night, we plan the meal that night around her tastes to accommodate her.
Well, my daughter was invited to spend the night over at her house one night in November. I thought, hmmm, let’s send a couple of chocolate brownies over for the girls to have a special treat. Little did I know what I would create! She loved them!!! She came to crave that rich, chocolate brownie taste we all love. Our picky little eater couldn’t get enough.
Needless to say, now, every time I see her, she’s very happy to see me! She loves my shirts with their logos, and loves when she gets to come to my house, or Elizabeth goes to hers. She’s addicted her whole family to our gourmet brownies. And, little does she know, she advertises us every time I pick up Elizabeth from their daycare too, because the other parents take notice of what I’m wearing. So, the moral of this story…fudgy gourmet brownies can win over even the pickiest of eaters. Trust me.
November 14, 2009 was the date of the most recent DragonFly920 benefit motorcycle run for Hernando/Pasco Hospice, located close to Tampa, Florida. My in-laws fly down yearly to help with the set-up and to help Uncle Artie (my uncle-in-law) get everyone registered. This year, I sent them with wonderful gourmet brownie gifts to share with all the friends and relatives involved. Being that some of my father-in-law’s relatives eat only Kosher foods, I thought this would be an ideal gift from all of us while they were visiting. My husband’s great aunt and uncle were thrilled with Fairytale Brownies delicious fudgy gourmet brownies! Many of the other coordinators of the motorcycle run indulged too! Wholesale Team Member Holly Pringle tells her graduation story: My husband and I flew to Boise, Idaho, from Phoenix for our older son’s graduation last weekend.
