They sell the best brownies in the world... What is Fairytale Brownies?

Wednesday, August 25, 2010 by Alyssa Andrews
Every month during the off season, Fairytale Brownies team members gather for an all staff meeting that includes lunch and a celebration of staff birthdays and anniversaries. For the last few months, we've been reviewing each department's duties and procedures. We call these gatherings, "Learning Lunches."

The Marketing Team (Catalog, Web, PR, Corporate Sales and Wholesale) shared its procedures today with a friendly game of Fairytale Jeopardy!

Emcee Eileen (pictured in top photo) read the clues from five Marketing categories (Fairytale Potpourri; C's The Day; Around The World; Sell, Sell, Sell; and It's In The Mail) while three different teams vied to answer with the most correct questions.

Team Brownie:
"Around the World for 100, Eileen."
Eileen: "Also known for its beer, this European country produces the fine chocolate we use in our brownies."
(A bell rings.)
Eileen: "Team Sprites, your answer?"
Team Sprites: "What is Belgium?"
Eileen: "That is correct!"

Donna and Leslie are pictured here cheering Team Sprites's correct answer.

Some of the answers were a little tricky, so our Marketing Judges were called upon to determine a question's correctness. You can barely see our judges, Kari and Holly, way in the back of this photo.

The first-place team received mini board games for each member, while second- and third-place teams received "lovely" parting gifts of their own.

Another Fairytale Birthday, and a Little Surprise!

Thursday, August 12, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein

This last weekend was an extremely eventful one for me.  Not only were there two birthday parties, but as my friends here know, I was surprised by my husband with a trip to Las Vegas!  A second honeymoon...and my kiddo got to have two day sleepover at Grandma's!  She was excited.

The first party was a nice dinner for Cousin Kaitlyn, who turned 9.  She's extremely excited about being in the 4th grade this year, and loooooves Fairytale Brownies.  Last time I was at her house, I left her a peanut butter brownie to share with her little sister.  This time, I decided that it was time she had her own stash, since she's 9 now.  I brought her a Magic Morsel Dozen in all four flavors to go along with the ZhuZhu pet playset we got her.  She was SOOO pleased!

Her mom was jealous because she loves our fudgy chocolate brownies as much as her daughter does!  Knowing Kaitlyn the way I do, she'll share with everyone, so no problems there!

I brought home another brownie gift for my daughter to take to her second party on Saturday afternoon.  That was for a neighbor/friend of ours whose daughter was turning 11.  Elizabeth was thrilled to take her the best brownies in the world as part of her present.  And I'm sure she was very pleased as well.

As you can tell, I completely advocate the heavy use of Belgian chocolate brownies as great gift ideas, and they work for all ages!  Gourmet brownies = Happiness!

Fairytale Brownies, the perfect Birthday treat just in the nick of time!

Saturday, August 7, 2010 by Kim Silva
As I sat at my desk working this week, I remembered that my niece has a birthday coming up and will be turning 3 years old.  I have been racking my brain trying to think of what I might send, which may seem odd to most of you considering I work for the best gourmet brownie company around.  Call me crazy, but it did slip my mind . . . sending brownies that is.  I think it might be because I get so caught up in the daily operations and future initiatives of the company, I just plain forgot that I am a customer too!

My niece is having a small party over the weekend so I decided to ship her a Birthday Morsel 24 to share with her little pals.  How lucky am I . . .since I waited so long to think of what to send, I also happened to luck out in that we also have expedited shipping available, so her fudgy chocolate brownie treats will arrive just in the nick of time.  The size of our Magic Morsel brownies are perfect for little ones - I'm sure they will be the hit of the party.

Enjoy your Fairytale Brownies, and Happy Birthday, Little Fia!!

Customer's Rave about Belgian Chocolate Brownie Gifts!

I just wanted to share some of the great comments and raves that we've had pouring in to our customer service center about our great Fairytale Brownies and our excellent service! Here are some of the best ones from this week:

Include Fairytale Brownies in your school lunches

Wednesday, July 28, 2010 by Alyssa Andrews
Even though it's the last week of July, in Arizona we are getting ready for our children to return to school. Some area schools are already back in session!

Don't forget to include Fairytale Brownies in those lunch boxes.

Magic Morsels are a perfect bite-sized ending to any brown bag lunch. They are available in Original, Chocolate Chip, Caramel, Walnut and Sugar-free Original flavors.

Need a little larger size option? Try our Sprites - they're 3" x 1.5" and equal to one serving size. Sprites are available in 12 flavors.

Order your gourmet brownies online and they will be shipped to your door. Buy them in bulk without the special packaging and receive an even better price. Just put the spare brownies in the freezer (they'll stay fresh for up to 6 months) and use as needed.

Now that you've got lunches covered, time to focus on back-to-school clothing!

Brownies on Vacation!

Wednesday, July 28, 2010 by Kari Gayes
I am very excited this week, because Thursday morning I am heading out of the Phoenix heat to some (hopefully) cooler temperatures on the Connecticut coast to spend a week with my parents and my sister's family, including the two most adorable nieces in the world (I may be biased, but they're pretty stinking cute). If there's one thing I've learned about being a cool aunt, it's to always have some fudgy Fairytale Brownies when I visit! I'm taking a Magic Morsel Dozen for the girls so they have their very own bite-sized gourmet brownies to devour. Since my dad just turned 60, I decided I should take him a Happy Birthday brownie gift as well. I think I'll take the Birthday Sprite 24 so he has plenty for himself and to share with the rest of the adults, who are always very happy when I send brownies for the holidays.

Red, White, Blue & Fairytale Brownies

Thursday, July 8, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein
This past Sunday, the United States commemorated it's 234th birthday!  And many of us commemorated that with cookouts, parties, swimming, and of course, fireworks!  Those of us who are chocoholics had to add in...Fairytale Brownies!

My in-laws had close family friends in from out of town over the long weekend.  We were invited to a cookout there on Sunday for the 4th.  Of course, I volunteered to bring Belgian Chocolate Brownies as a wonderful way to end dinner, and the out-of-town guests had yet to sample the goodness of one of our gourmet brownies!

Well, the selection I brought with me went over fantastically.  Everyone found a flavor they loved, as well as sampling some new flavors.  I think a few were even snuck into the luggage for a special take-home treat.  I made sure to bring our tempting summer catalog with me, just in case anyone felt the need to order brownies.

I think the guests were suitably impressed by the selection of flavors offered in the Patriotic Sprite 24, as well as the quality of these rich, fudgy confections.  Hopefully, I've made addicts for life.

Belgian Chocolate Brownies for Special Occasions

Monday, June 28, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Today my husband called me and said, "Honey, we forgot to send brownies to our niece in Texas for her birthday." He was right, her birthday was 2 weeks ago and I can't believe that I forgot! So with an apologetic "Sorry, we're old and forgetful" note, I shipped her Happy Birthday Brownies today. She loves our gourmet brownies and loves to receive them for any special occasion. So, I sent her a Happy Birthday Sprite Dozen, since it has 1 of every delicious flavor we bake (Chocolate Chip and Toffee Crunch are her favorite flavors). I'm sure she'll delight in the brownie gift we are sending her as she always does.

Thank goodness for Fairytale Brownies! My gifting needs, especially for special occasions and for those people who "have everything" are taken care of! So, thank you Fairytale Brownies for the scrumptious gourmet brownie gifts! I am especially looking forward to the gourmet cookies debuting this September. My friends and family who are used to getting brownies delivered will delight in soon getting gourmet cookies AND gourmet brownies delivered :)!

Fairytale Friend

Friday, June 25, 2010 by Ellie Perry
Each gourmet brownie gift we ship includes a comment card, which we call a Business Reply Card.  When a gift recipient completes the postage paid card and returns it to us we save them for a drawing at the end of each month.   Each month we select 2 winners who receive a complimentary Fairytale Dozen (our customer favorite which features 1 each of all 12 delicious Fairytale flavors).

This week I received a wonderful letter from a recent winner.  It reads:

"Dear Fairytale Brownie Friends,
Five days ago I answered the doorbell and found a box from Fairytale Brownies.  My first thought was "what are my kids doing?"  Did they forget they already send me a box of Fairytale Brownies for my birthday?  After opening the box and reading the enclosed card I was shocked and surprised; I could hardly believe it!  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!  I've been enjoying them each day since they arrived. Sincerely, Darlene"

We'd like to say thank you to Darlene's family for sending her a brownie gift. Fairytale Brownies makes delicious gourmet brownies that are perfect for any occasion.  And thank you Darlene, for being such a great Fairytale Friend!

Gourmet Brownies Delivered FREE to APO/FPO Addresses!

Monday, June 14, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Today is June 14th, which in the U.S. is Flag Day. According to the site USflag.org, the 4th of July was traditionally celebrated as "America's Birthday," but the idea of an annual day specifically celebrating the Flag is believed to have first originated in 1885. Then in 1894, the governor of New York directed that June 14th be designated Flag Day and Flags be displayed on all public buildings. Thus, sparked many patriotic programs throughout the US. But it was not until August 3rd, 1949 that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th as National Flag Day.

On days like today, I often reflect on what it means to me and I find myself thinking about our Military servicemen and women stationed around the world. Chest swelling with pride, I'd like to shout from the rooftops that I am proud to be an American, and send a heartfelt "Thank You" to our Military who remind me that freedom is not free.

Though freedom is not free, we can still show our appreciation and support by sending our soldiers care packages full of homemade treats for free. One way that Fairytale Brownies shows our support and appreciation is by offering Free Shipping on any gift that goes to an APO or FPO address year round. This helps our military families who send brownies to their loved ones, or even those who have anonymously adopted a soldier to send a gift of thanks and support.

To find out more about Fairytale Brownies Free Shipping to APO/FPO addresses, please visit our website brownies.com, or call our customer service number at 800.324.7982.

Sleepover with Fairytale Brownies

Thursday, June 10, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein

My daughter recently had her first slumber party! She invited her closest friends from school, and made a “fun-genda”. For all of you without daughters, that’s “fun” and “agenda”. Of course, her agenda included Fairytale Brownies.  She even reminded me "Mommy, make sure you bring home some fudge brownies."

The night began when moms dropped off their girls at our house. All of them wanted only one thing to start with; swimming. They all RAN to my daughter’s room, did a quick change, and were in the pool within 5 minutes. You’d never believe how fast a child can change clothes, with proper motivation. They swam for about an hour and a half, then came in to eat dinner…a kids fave: chicken nuggets and mac & cheese.

                   Original                                               Walnut

Birthday SurpriseAfter playing inside and winding down for a little while, they decided on a movie and all of them wanted a dessert. Guess what they picked? Gourmet Brownies! My kiddo had her usual Original, as well as her BFF, and her friend Victoria asked for Walnut. What a surprise to me! They all downed those moist, delicious brownies! Her friend Mya even went as far as to tell Victoria that one bite of these fudgy chocolate brownies is a life changing snack. (Not those exact words, but close enough.) I think I may have made some Belgian chocolate brownie addicts out of my daughter’s best friends. Is that a bad thing? Not really, as long as they don’t eat them for breakfast. (although, in the wisdom of Bill Cosby, they do contain flour and eggs, so it’s possible). And, by the way, HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY, ELIZABETH!

Fairytale celebrates Mother's Day at Costco Roadshow

Wednesday, May 5, 2010 by Alyssa Andrews

Expedited shipping is the only way to send fudgy chocolate brownies cross country from Fairytale Brownies at this point in time, but there's still an option left for Arizona locals looking for a Mother's Day dessert or gift.

Visit us at either of two Costco locations - Cave Creek or Scottsdale - for a Mother's Day Roadshow from Thursday through Saturday.

We will have plenty of Mother's Day Dozens, Fairytale Dozens and Fairytale Sprite Dozens for purchase at a great Costco price.

The Cave Creek store is located at 2450 E. Beardsley, Phoenix, AZ.

The Scottsdale store is located at 15255 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, AZ.

Fairytale team members will be at both locations during Costco business hours, and will be sampling a variety of brownie flavors throughout the weekend. So come by and say hello to us!

Pick up a couple of Mother's Day gifts and don't forget any other special occasions that might sneak up on you in May - graduation, teacher thank-you gifts, going away parties, Memorial Day and just because. Our brownies freeze well up to six months.

In case you're wondering, I'll be in Scottsdale... see you there!

Gourmet Brownie sampling at local Costco Warehouses!

Monday, April 12, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Two weekends ago, the marketing team here at Fairytale Brownies went to local Costco Warehouses in the Valley to demo on their road show. We were at Costco's in Paradise Valley (Cactus and Tatum) and in Mesa (Southern and Sossoman). We brought all 12 fudge brownies flavors we carry for Costco shoppers to sample: Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Cream Cheese, Espresso Nib, Mint Chocolate, Original, Peanut Butter, Pecan, Raspberry Swirl, Toffee Crunch, Walnut and White Chocolate. See our entire Fairytale Flavor family here.  We even brought our Fairytale Truffles to sample as well. Fairytale Truffles are delicious fudgy gourmet brownies enrobed in rich dark chocolate.

Being a local business and very active in the community, we had many people recognize us. Some of our loyal customers were very happy to find us there! Fairytale Brownies is the best brownie company around, so of course, when people eat our decadent brownies and see our magical packaging, they never forget us!

We plan on participating in the next road show in May (right before Mother's Day), so if you are local and you get the chance, stop by Costco and pick up your favorite gourmet brownies today. I'll be posting the Costco times and locations soon. Keep checking our blog (http://blog.brownies.com) and our Facebook Fan page (http://www.facebook.com/fairytalebrownies) for more updates! We will be bringing along lots of Mother's Day Gifts so this is the perfect time to shop for Mom - and at our special Costco wholesale price too! Can't beat that! Or, if you're not local, please visit our website brownies.com if you'd like to order brownies online!

My Anniversary with Fairytale Brownies

Thursday, April 8, 2010 by Tanika Richards
On March 24th, myself and another co-worker celebrated our 2 year anniversary with Fairytale Brownies. What a wonderful achievement; 2 years with an incredible Gourmet Brownie company. At our monthly company lunch, Eileen Spitalny and David Kravetz received two beautiful bouquets of roses from a company that has the ability to put your companies logo or a picture on the petals. As a selfless gesture, Eileen gave the flowers including the etched glass vases to my fellow anniversary co worker, Jennifer, and I.  Thank you Fairytale Brownies for 2 wonderful years, and I look forward to many more to come!

80 and Counting

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 by Ellie Perry
For my Mom's 75th birthday I ordered Custom Gift Favors from Fairytale Brownies to hand out to everyone who attended the birthday dinner.  I had her name and the date printed on the box lid along with whimsical balloons (Here's an example of what the box looked like below [my mom's name isn't Andrew Smith, ha ha]).  The gift favors contained delicious gourmet brownies.  Her favorite flavors are Toffee Crunch and Walnut, so I selected the Choose Your Own flavor option.  Mom thinks Fairytale Brownies makes the best brownies ever.

We'll be busy planning Mom's 80th birthday celebration soon.  We want it to be even more fun than her 75th party.  Friends and family from all around the country will be attending.  And Fairytale Brownies will be there to help us celebrate!

Check out http://www.brownies.com/business_gifts/custom_gifts.aspx for more great Custom Gift ideas!

Brownie Research & Development!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 by Kari Gayes
Whew! We've had a very busy start to 2010 here at Fairytale Brownies

Today, I'm working on some gourmet brownie gift towers we're going to debut in our Fall 2010 catalogs, and I wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes look at a new product in development. We've packed these white sample boxes full of delicious fudge brownies, cookies (can you spot them?), coffee, cocoa and cashews to see what fits in the towers.

Next, we'll analyze the cost of each gourmet brownie flavor that we hope to include, so we can make sure the gifts fit into the right price range for our customers who order brownies in these kinds of gifts.

On the design front, our graphic designer Erin is working on how the boxes should look so that we create the most enchanting gift we can. There will be plenty of our signature Fairytale purple and brown in one set of towers, but a couple of others will be designed as part of our Christmas and Holiday gift collections.

What do you think?

Fairytale Brownies plans Costco Roadshow this weekend

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 by Alyssa Andrews
The Fairytale Brownies team will be celebrating Easter and spring with a brownie roadshow at two Valley Costco Stores this weekend. One team will be in East Mesa at 1444 S. Sossaman Road, and another team will be in Paradise Valley at 4570 E. Cactus Road, from Thursday through Saturday.

Those familiar with Fairytale will know that our fudge brownies are always received with a smile and the thought, "Do I have to share?"

Because Costco will sell our brownie dozens and Sprite dozens at a great price (less than Fairytale's web site or retail location), you won't have to share! Just buy multiple boxes - some to give and some to keep for yourself.

Fairytale's Sprite Dozen is always popular with those interested in portion control. Each Sprite equals one serving, and the box includes 12 different flavors - Original, Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Cream Cheese, Espresso Nib, Mint Chocolate, Pecan, Peanut Butter, Raspberry Swirl, Toffee Crunch, Walnut, and White Chocolate.

I like the Sprites because I can eat one and not feel guilty about the calories. But my problem is self control and five minutes later I'll come back to the box and have another flavor! So much for portion and calorie control...

Come visit us at Costco this weekend! I will be at the Mesa store along with Holly, Janet, Hilary and Ellie. Eileen, David, Erin, Kari, Kim and Kristie will be in Paradise Valley. We will be sampling our Original flavor gourmet brownie at both stores. While you shop at Costco, you can savor the flavor of those fudge brownie samples and then eat the whole box when you get in the car... well, that's what I would do.
