Fairytale Babies!

Thursday, September 2, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein
This has been an extremely eventful week here at Fairytale Brownies.  As our loyal readers know, one of our Customer Service Team members is having a baby.  Well, she's due anytime now, and we decided to throw her a Fairytale Surprise Party!

Needless to day, any good party here at Fairytale includes the best brownies on earth!  (No, the cake is cake, brownies were later.)  Tanika was so surprised and pleased...and I hope Mackel will be pleased with all the love shown by all our people here, and I'm sure he will be.

On Tuesday, we're kicking our season into high gear with the arrival of our seasonal employees here in Customer Service. They will be here until just before Christmas to help us send brownies, cookies, and all of our other corporate food gifts for the holiday season.  We have one who is with us for his fourth season, and has started with us already!  Welcome back Tony "The Confrontation" Sanders!

As a side note, Rosh Hashanah will commence at sundown on September 8th this year, so, Happy New Year!

Another Fairytale Birthday, and a Little Surprise!

Thursday, August 12, 2010 by Melissa Eisenstein

This last weekend was an extremely eventful one for me.  Not only were there two birthday parties, but as my friends here know, I was surprised by my husband with a trip to Las Vegas!  A second honeymoon...and my kiddo got to have two day sleepover at Grandma's!  She was excited.

The first party was a nice dinner for Cousin Kaitlyn, who turned 9.  She's extremely excited about being in the 4th grade this year, and loooooves Fairytale Brownies.  Last time I was at her house, I left her a peanut butter brownie to share with her little sister.  This time, I decided that it was time she had her own stash, since she's 9 now.  I brought her a Magic Morsel Dozen in all four flavors to go along with the ZhuZhu pet playset we got her.  She was SOOO pleased!

Her mom was jealous because she loves our fudgy chocolate brownies as much as her daughter does!  Knowing Kaitlyn the way I do, she'll share with everyone, so no problems there!

I brought home another brownie gift for my daughter to take to her second party on Saturday afternoon.  That was for a neighbor/friend of ours whose daughter was turning 11.  Elizabeth was thrilled to take her the best brownies in the world as part of her present.  And I'm sure she was very pleased as well.

As you can tell, I completely advocate the heavy use of Belgian chocolate brownies as great gift ideas, and they work for all ages!  Gourmet brownies = Happiness!

Cookie Delivery Begins This Fall!

Monday, June 28, 2010 by David Kravetz
Well, after 17 years of creating the best brownie gifts anywhere, we've decided to branch out.  Fairytale Brownies began with just two flavors - walnut and plain.  Since that time we've expanded our line to include 12 flavors in three sizes (Original 3" x 3" Brownies, snack-size 3" x 1.5" Fairytale Sprites, and bite-size 1.5" x 1.5" Magic Morsels).  We've also introduced brownie trays and our most recent creation - Fairytale Truffles (bite-size gourmet brownies completely enrobed in 60% dark belgian chocolate).

After much soul searching we decided it was time to branch out beyond our brownie beginnings.  Customers sending thank you food gifts kept asking for more variety.  So the next logical step was cookies.  But these couldn't be just any cookies - they had to be worth of the Fairytale name. So after months of testing, baking, evaluating and tasting hundreds of cookie experiments, we've created two decadent and delicious cookie flavors:  Caramel Pecan and Double Chocolate.

Fairytale Cookies are made with the same premium, all-natural ingredients that we use in our brownies, including creamery butter and farm-fresh eggs.  So this fall when you're ready to send corporate gifts or ship brownies to a friend, you can feel confident that our new cookies will be as delicious and well received as the brownies you've sent before!

Thank You Gift Idea

Monday, June 7, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Recently, my husband and I purchased a small piece of Real Estate in the small town of Queen Creek, AZ. Due to the economy, it was an extremely arduous task to complete the entire purchase process. We really "worked" our realtor; she definitely earned her commission on that deal! On document signing day, my husband and I went to the title office to complete the paperwork. We went after I had gotten off of work and I was still "in uniform" (still wearing my Fairytale Brownies logo shirt). The ladies in the office noticed my shirt, and commented that they knew who Fairytale Brownies were and proceeded to harass me because I had not brought any of our Belgian Chocolate Brownies with me!

So, as I do every time somebody asks me for a fudgy chocolate brownie sample, I promised that I would send brownies to their office right away. So to say "Thank You" to our realtor, loan officer, and title company, we sent them each boxes of Fairytale Brownies. Not only are they the best brownies around (hands-down!), they make excellent Thank You Food Gifts. I sent them each a Thank You 8-Sprite Gift Favor which contains 1 Original, Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Pecan, Toffee Crunch, Walnut and White Chocolate Sprites (Sprites are our 1/2 size brownies that measure 1.5" x 3").

I did receive Thank You messages from our gift recipients; they all loved the gourmet brownies. I even had our realtor tell me that she is going to start sending brownies to her clients as Thank You Gifts for her business! For more information, or to order brownies online, visit us at brownies.com

Fun at the Fairytale Bakery!

Tuesday, June 1, 2010 by Kari Gayes
As I mentioned last week, we had a summer kickoff party here at Fairytale Brownies last Wednesday. All 33 of us took a break from baking gourmet brownies, packing and shipping brownie gifts and figuring out what makes people want to buy brownies for a couple hours of fun in the sun. David put together a fun video of the party, and I thought it would be fun to give you a little behind-the-scenes peek at our party at the Fairytale Bakery. You might notice that we also got to sample some of our forthcoming Fairytale Cookies. They are coming right along, and each batch is more delicious than the last. I can't wait to add them to our food gift product line this fall!

Building The Fairytale Bakery

Sunday, April 18, 2010 by David Kravetz
This week we had a visit from Brett Corley, the General Contractor who built our new "Fairytale Bakery" back in 2006 (after 14 years in business we needed more room to grow).  Brett is the founder of C3 Construction in Phoenix, AZ.  He hadn't seen the building since we moved in, so he decided to drop by for a visit and buy brownies for some of his current clients.

Brett and I toured the building together and he watched us making the best brownies in the world.  We had some good laughs about the challenges we went through during construction (which were not funny at the time!).  I showed him our brownie test kitchen and he watched our shipping team pack up some thank you food gifts.  On the way out I gave Brett some of our decadent Fairytale Truffles (gourmet brownies enrobed in dark chocolate) to share with his staff.  It was great to see Brett and catch up on the brownie business, the construction business, and life.

My Anniversary with Fairytale Brownies

Thursday, April 8, 2010 by Tanika Richards
On March 24th, myself and another co-worker celebrated our 2 year anniversary with Fairytale Brownies. What a wonderful achievement; 2 years with an incredible Gourmet Brownie company. At our monthly company lunch, Eileen Spitalny and David Kravetz received two beautiful bouquets of roses from a company that has the ability to put your companies logo or a picture on the petals. As a selfless gesture, Eileen gave the flowers including the etched glass vases to my fellow anniversary co worker, Jennifer, and I.  Thank you Fairytale Brownies for 2 wonderful years, and I look forward to many more to come!

80 and Counting

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 by Ellie Perry
For my Mom's 75th birthday I ordered Custom Gift Favors from Fairytale Brownies to hand out to everyone who attended the birthday dinner.  I had her name and the date printed on the box lid along with whimsical balloons (Here's an example of what the box looked like below [my mom's name isn't Andrew Smith, ha ha]).  The gift favors contained delicious gourmet brownies.  Her favorite flavors are Toffee Crunch and Walnut, so I selected the Choose Your Own flavor option.  Mom thinks Fairytale Brownies makes the best brownies ever.

We'll be busy planning Mom's 80th birthday celebration soon.  We want it to be even more fun than her 75th party.  Friends and family from all around the country will be attending.  And Fairytale Brownies will be there to help us celebrate!

Decadent Birthday Brownie

Friday, March 26, 2010 by David Kravetz
My daughter Lily loves giving brownies to all her new friends in high school. One of her best friends Jeffrey recently celebrated his 15th birthday, so she decided to make him the ultimate fudge brownies.  I brought home two of our Original 8" x 8" one pound brownie trays.  We sell these trays at a number of gourmet grocery stores as a take-home chocolate brownie treat.  Lily frosted the first giant brownie and then stacked another on top.  She then added more frosting to the whole thing and piped on her birthday message.  Jeffrey was so surprised and said it ranked up there with the best brownies of all time!

Over the years we've talked about introducing a "birthday brownie kit" where we send a big brownie along with frosting, candles, and other goodies to create your own custom birthday treat.  During the creation of this decadent brownie, Lily reminded me that it would make the perfect birthday food gift.  So keep an eye out, you may see this new product in the near future!

Fairytale Brownies Returns To Fancy Food Show With Expanded Line

Thursday, January 14, 2010 by Hilary Lee
Fairytale Brownies will return to San Francisco for the NASFT's 35th Winter Fancy Food Show with products for foodservice, retailers and catalogers. Fairytale Brownies will display and sample the wholesale brownie and truffle flavors at the Fancy Food Show from January 17th - 9th at Booth #1364 in the North Hall of the Moscone Center.

"We're listening to the particular needs of foodservice providers and retail outlets," Eileen Spitaly, Fairytale Brownies co-founder said. "Our goal is to simplify dessert preparation while preserving the integrity of our gourmet brand." Our new Fairytale Half-Sheets arrive ready to serve and can be cut to a preferred size or shape as needed. The Fairytale Half-Sheets (4 lbs.) are baked in Original, Chocolate Chip and Walnut flavors and are sold by the case (5/4 lb.).

New retail ready packaging for Fairytale's individually wrapped brownies is being introduced at the show. Brownies, Sprites or Magic Morsels now will arrive in a 4-color display box with a pop-up lid for maximum consumer visibility. "These boxes should work very well in the frozen section as an entire unit for sale because they are shrink wrapped," Spitalny said.

Other Fairytale Brownie products available for wholesale include a 1 lb. Brownie Tray (Original and Walnut flavors), 2 lb. Occasion Walnut Tray, Fairytale Truffles (Original, Caramel, Raspberry Swirl, Walnut and Candy Cane flavors), Special Occasion Assortments, Fairytale Sprites and Magic Morsels.

The 3" x 3" individually wrapped brownies and 1 lb. brownie trays are currently sold at all AJ's Fine Foods and Whole Foods grocers in Arizona, as well as Gelson's Markets in Southern California and other gourmet retailers. Fairytale Brownies also are ideal for gift basket companies who work with perishable items because each brownie is individually wrapped. See a list of all retail locations here.

Fairytale offers a great drop-ship program for catalog companies, floral shops and other online retailers. We ship UPS worldwide, and USPS to P.O. Boxes and APO/FPO addresses.

Fairytale Brownies began its successful mail order brownie business in 1992. Fairytale Brownies are baked with imported Callebaut Belgian dark chocolate and other natural ingredients and all brownies are Certified Kosher.

Find more information on NASFT's 35th Winter Fancy Food Show.

Fairytale Brownies Review! Yum Yum!

Thursday, December 31, 2009 by Customer Brownie Stories
I have to tell you about some wonderful gourmet brownies we received around Christmas! These are top on the list for my family. They are Fairytale Brownies. To begin with, they come in a lovely holiday box and each brownie is individually packaged for presentation and freshness. We received an assorted box and it came with the following flavors: Pecan, Peanut Butter, Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Original and White Chocolate. I can say I sampled every one of them except the White Chocolate, which my daughter devoured Christmas morning, and they are simply ...aahhhhh, delicious! My favorite was the Caramel, but all of them are super. These taste like they were fresh and cooked just for us. My granddaughter summer Leigh Anne enjoyed half of one and as you can see that was not enough. The chocolate on the mouth gives her away as she is trying to get more! Which she did! Grandson Kolby quickly took his and moved to the corner of the couch, he got comfortable and enjoyed the Pecan brownie. Looks like he liked it! What do you think? Now I would like to add. I do not typically have lots of sweets lying around but these are not really sweet. You can enjoy these and not feel like you have cheated yourself. These almost taste like, naturally sweet, not a lot of added nonsense. These brownies can be ordered online and they will quickly arrive. So easy!! They ship any gift for only $6.95 per address and Delivery in 3 business days guaranteed! The only negative thing I could say is that the Peanut Butter one fell apart easily into several pieces. It was soft and crumbly and they are a little pricey, around $3 each but for gourmet brownies they are reasonable. So do I recommend these?? YES! I will be ordering again and this time will try and get a few extras for other family members. Yes these are definitely for sharing. For birthdays, holidays, or maybe a special thank you food gift. I did not receive anything free for this review, and is my honest opinion of this product. Have a blessed and safe new year! Betty

The out-of-towners are getting brownie gifts for Christmas

Tuesday, December 8, 2009 by Alyssa Andrews
I just finished placing my Christmas food gift order and I hope I didn't forget anyone! All of my relatives back East are getting fudge brownies from Fairytale Brownies.

No surprise really. I used to switch food gift companies each year. One year Aunt Pat received muffins, the next year she received cookies. But once I ordered Fairytale Brownies online four years ago, shipped brownies are just expected.
Now I switch gifts within the Fairytale Brownies family - one year they get brownies, another year they get Sprites.

This year, some of them are receiving Candy Cane Truffles. Our truffles are bite-sized mint brownies covered in 60% dark chocolate and sprinkled with crushed candy canes. I fondly refer to them as "little bundles of joyful essence" because my tastebuds dance a happy dance when I eat them!

Other relatives are receiving our Winter Sprite Wonderland. This gift includes an assortment of 16 Sprites (3" x 1 1.2" brownies) packed in a wintry blue snowflake gift box.

The brownies are delicious, of course, so I know they will love this gift, too.

You can ship brownies to your loved ones in time for the holidays as well. Order online at www.brownies.com or call 800.FAIRYTALE.

All of this talking about shopping made me hungry so I'm going to take a brownie break now.

Bring your... Rikki to work day!

Wednesday, November 4, 2009 by Brandie Davenport
Last week our Corporate Sales Assistant, Kristie (who also happens to be my sister) was told by my nephew Joe that she needed to bring his stuffed animal who he calls Rikki to work with her. Rikki is actually an otter but my nephew is convinced that he is a mongoose like on the old cartoon Rikki Tikki Tavi. I know this is very silly but I wanted to share some of the adventures that Rikki went on at the Fairytale Bakery!

Rikki started off his morning by helping to greet customers in the retail store. While he was in the retail store he took a little break to look through the viewing window to see the bakers baking our delicious gourmet brownies. For a little while Rikki went missing but we found him cozied up with all the blondie bunnies!

Rikki then made his way to the warehouse to help our shipping team ship brownies. Rikki packed his very own Christmas food gift! Rikki wanted to know what it was like to be real tall so he got to sit in one of the bins. Then it was time to head upstairs.

First Rikki helped make some copies. Then he helped customer service by taking a couple of phone orders. He also helped do some marketing research. He liked sitting on Alyssa's ball!

Next it was time for a meeting. Erin, me and Kari needed some of Rikki's input on a project we were working on.

Rikki went and helped accounting for a little while. Well, he wasn't much help when he found this cool toy they have down there. Then he stopped to salute "Our Soldiers". Finally Rikki's day was coming to an end. He had a very busy day so he finished it off by sitting in one of our massage chairs in our quiet room.

Thank you Rikki for all your help in making the world a sweeter place, one Fairytale Brownie at a time!

Meet Fairytale's Nissa at Scottsdale Fashion Square

Thursday, October 15, 2009 by Alyssa Andrews
Scottsdale Fashion Square is opening a new wing this week and Fairytale Brownies is part of the celebration.

Visit the east wing and you'll see the results from "The Mannequin is Our Muse" design project. Scattered throughout the wing are 125 mannequins dressed in the latest fashion as interpreted by the designer.

Nissa, Fairytale's mannequin whose name means "friendly fairy," will greet you near the piano at the entrance to Barneys.

Nissa was designed by Marie-jose Poulet, a Fairytale friend and studio director at Thinking Caps. She previously designed clothing in Belgium.

Nissa is wearing Fairytale Brownies gift packaging: purple Magic Morsel wrappers form her strapless bodice; brown tissue with a clear cellophane overlay complete her skirt; and a purple satin ribbon creates a sash. Nissa's hem combines brown and purple tissue for a detailed effect. Stretch bows usually wrap Fairytale's fudgy brownie gifts, but we discovered another use for them while dressing Nissa. Several strands adorn her wrist to create a distinctive silver bracelet. Nissa holds a Fairytale Brownies gift box to remind everyone that gourmet brownies make a perfect food gift.

Although her sandals aren't made from Fairytale packaging, Nissa looks hot in her silver heels! Check Nissa out through Sunday at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
