We think Amber Killmon would love our Espresso Nib Brownies delivered to her home. At least we hope so. After all, the stay-at-home mom from Chincoteague, Va., seems to have great taste in brownies.
Amber recently won the top prize in the desserts category of the Everything Tastes Better with Coffee recipe contest. Her winnings included $250 and a coffee plant.
Amber called her winning entry Triple Chocolate Espresso Cheesecake Swirl Brownie Bites. Here’s how she described her winning recipe, “These Triple Chocolate Espresso Cheesecake Brownie Bites combine everything I love: Chocolate (times 3), Espresso, Cheesecakes and Brownies. It’s the quartet of kitchen sins, and you don’t want to be without them – ever.”
You can see the recipe on Amber’s blog on Parent Palace.
At Fairytale Brownies, we have our own coffee-and-cocoa concoction. Our Espresso Nib Brownies are filled with rich espresso flavor and sprinkled with crushed cocoa nibs.

Or, you might go really big like the folks in Daphne, Ala. Something Sweet Bake Shop just put Daphne on the map – and into the Guinness Book of World Records.
According to a report in Alabama’s Gulf Coast News, Something Sweet recently baked the world’s largest brownie. At its official weigh-in, the bake shop’s brownie tipped the scales at over 234 pounds. The previous record was 220 pounds, 7 ounces.
Not too shabby!
The effort to bake the world’s largest brownie supported a good cause. Slices of the brownie sold for $3 each with proceeds going to the Bay Area Food Bank’s backpack program, which provides take-home food to students on weekends when school cafeterias are closed.
The brownie produced nearly 1,200 slices. That’s over $3,000 for charity. Way to go, Something Sweet!
We’ll admit that we can’t come close to delivering 234 pounds...Read More »
Ellie Perry is a customer service team member at Fairytale Brownies. We asked her which of our delicious gourmet brownies was her favorite and who she’d most like to send brownies or cookie gifts to. Here are her answers:
Q: Why do you love working at Fairytale Brownies?
A: Fairytale Brownies is a great place to work! David and Eileen, our co-founders, are the most generous people you’ll ever meet. They truly care about all team members. Fairytale Brownies team members work well together. It’s a fun, rewarding job. And we sell brownies. How cool is that!?
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: For fun I am a fused glass artist. You’ll be able to find my work on Etsy soon. Keep your eyes open for EPIC GLASS DESIGN.
Q: Which of our gourmet gifts is your favorite?

Everyone loves a fairytale. And when the story includes a baby, well, we women love it even more!
A new little prince was born to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and husband Prince William yesterday and the world rejoiced. Most of us only know the couple from a distance via the media, but that didn't stop us from sharing their baby news with everyone yesterday: It's a Boy!
Now we wait to catch a glimpse of his beautiful face, hear his name and watch him live happily ever after.
At Fairytale Brownies, two mamas, two grandmas, and a great aunt (me!) are still waiting for our own "royal" babies to be born. With each birth announcement, we are so filled with joy for the family. The births may not make the world news, but each one is royal news in our world.
Of course we'll celebrate the births with gourmet brownies, gift baskets of cookies and food gifts galore. With so many varieties of Fairytale treats, even the most disinterested relative will enjoy visiting the new addition to the family.

I recently hosted a baby shower for my daughter Jen who is pregnant with her first child. Needless to say, I'm thrilled at the mere thought of becoming a Grammy as I've waited a very long time! Planning the baby shower was so much fun especially selecting the favor to give each guest. We wanted to give something special, unique, and memorable that every guest would enjoy. The first gift that came to mind was Fairytale Custom Label Cookies!
We worked with our Custom Order Department here at Fairytale Brownies to customize the cookie labels and we were so happy with the end result! The labels were designed with the shower theme, name, date, and signature colors of the baby's room, green & pink! (Did I mention it's a girl??) We selected our four favorite flavors of Fairytale Cookies: Caramel Pecan, Double Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Coconut Walnut; each topped with a custom label. The oohs and aahs of the guests as they reached into the basket to get their treats certainly made us...Read More »
Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor the many men and women who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
At Fairytale Brownies, we respect and appreciate the sacrifice of our military members. In addition to offering our brownie gifts and cookie baskets in patriotic red, white, and blue packaging, we send 10 thank you food gifts to U.S. soldiers deployed worldwide every month.
This initiative is conducted through Soldiers' Angels, which is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to provide aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and their families.
Soldiers’ Angels was founded in 2003 by the mother of two American soldiers. Today, hundreds of thousands of "Angel" volunteers assist veterans, wounded and deployed personnel and their families in a variety of ways.
We’re proud to do our part to support our brave military personnel. Thank you for all you do.
It’s easy for you to send patriotic...Read More »
If baking brownies, cookies, and other gourmet desserts was easy, we’d all do it. Right? Well, most of us certainly try. And most of us succeed. At least most of the time.
And then some times, we don’t. Instead, we’re left with no other option but to laugh at ourselves and our cringe-worthy kitchen catastrophes. In these moments, we probably wonder why we didn’t just order brownie gifts or cookie baskets instead. Â
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then these pictures of ultimate baking failures are worth a thousand laughs.
(Thank you to good-natured Reddit users for posting their embarrassing photos and to Huffington Post for collecting 14 of the best into an article entitled: Cookie Fail: Reasons You Should Be Easier On Yourself When You Mess Up.)
We’ve included two of our favorite cookie fails in this post. For example, check out the picture above of peanut butter cookies that were so hard that they broke the spatula. Or, enjoy the photo below of chocolate chip cookies that seem...Read More »
