Stock Up on Peanut Butter Brownies and Cookies; Make Way for New Flavors!

peanut butter brownieI experienced my first Fairytale Brownie 10 years ago this month. I had just interviewed for my position here and was told I could choose any flavor brownie to take with me. Although there were 12 flavors screaming my name, creamy Peanut Butter shouted the loudest.

I was going to wait until I got home at the end of the day to share the giant 3" x 3" dark chocolate square with my husband and children. But as I headed to work from the interview, that Peanut Butter brownie was too tempting to be ignored. I didn't just take a bite... I ate the whole thing! I told myself that I was conducting market research. Then I reasoned that the brownie was breakfast. Then I accepted facts: The fudge brownie was heavenly, and I was hooked.

Since that first brownie experience, I've changed my favorite flavor many times. peanut butter cookieThat's the great thing about Fairytale Brownies - we have plenty of gourmet flavors that turn into customer favorites.

Although we will be retiring our Peanut Butter Brownie and Peanut...

Show good manners! Value their referrals with gourmet food gifts they'll love

Our Moms taught us the importance of the thank-you note - heartfelt gratitude for kindness shown. It's just good manners.

gourmet brownies, fudge browniesWhen it comes to business, thank-you notes are a must - especially when a customer or client refers your business. They are paying you the ultimate compliment. They value your service, trust you and your product, and have confidence in your abilities.

Why not express your gratitude for their referral with a little more than just a thank-you note?

I recommend a food gift like gourmet brownies from Fairytale Brownies. Think about it. You can't go wrong with a food gift because everyone eats! If you discover your recipient doesn't care for fudge brownies, send chewy cookies or buttery bars instead.

Referrals are strong business builders. When a client or customer tells their friend about your awesome service or product, they not only are advertising for you, they're building your reputation as a trusted and valued business.

The clients don't have to say a word about your...

Appreciate your favorite teachers with fudge brownies from Fairytale

I would thank you from the bottom of my heart, but for you my heart has no bottom. - Author Unknown

gourmet food giftsWe all have at least one teacher in our lives who holds a special place. Maybe he took the extra time to explain calculus so you wouldn't fail math class; maybe her sense of humor made you forget you were learning; maybe he challenged you with difficult exams so you would reach deep within and know how to produce more when needed.

We celebrate those wonderful influencers during the first week of May for Teacher Appreciation Week. Flowers, crafts, gift cards, poems, and coffee mugs are just some of gifts we give to those who inspire and motivate. I may be partial, but I think food gifts - specifically gourmet brownie gifts - are the best way to show your appreciation.

Fairytale Brownies offers elegant favor boxes filled with your choice of three sizes of individually wrapped fudge brownies... a perfect snack while grading papers or for an anytime treat. The box is beautiful, the brownies are...

Are gourmet cookies a safer pick than cookie dough shots?

gourmet cookieCookie dough is all the rage these days. The Roasting Plant coffee shop in downtown Detroit has hopped on the bandwagon with gourmet cookie dough shots.

As described in an article in the Detroit Free Press, “The uncooked dough balls, studded with chunks of dark chocolate, are sold in shot-glass-sized plastic cups in a cooler in front of the shop's cash registers.”

Small shots, the equivalent of half a cookie, are $1.49. Large shots, equal to a whole cookie, cost $2.49.

As we posted earlier this year, the USDA warned consumers on Twitter: “Don’t eat the raw dough! It contains uncooked eggs that may contain Salmonella bacteria.” But don’t worry about these cookie dough shots being a threat to your health.

Shop manager Kristen Wing has taken this into consideration, as she explained to the Detroit Free Press. “The cookie dough is the same as the cookies, except it's made with pasteurized eggs so it won't make you sick,” Wing said.

Given that, stop by the Roasting Plant and grab a gourmet...

National Playground Safety Week Conjures Fun Times On The Safety Swing

I remember playing on the swing set in my uncle's yard with my two sisters. Because I was the youngest, I had to use the swing with "safety" seat so I wouldn't fall out. This seat was wooden with a sliding bar that often stuck when you were trying to get in or out of it.

kaboom, buy brownies onlineAs some children do, my sisters liked to swing as high as they could, and then jump off into the air. Such thrill seekers they were! I wanted to be one, too.

The girls jumped off their swings many times, and as they did, two of the metal poles of the swing set would come out of the ground. Each time I saw this, I would worry that we were going to tip over. My sisters reassured me that EVERY swing set did this... I was such a baby.

Then my sisters took one final swing and one final leap. Of course, the swing set tipped over with me still sitting in my safety seat. I'm sure they were thankful they weren't the ones imprisoned on the ground with an overturned swing set collapsed around them. They were concerned I wasn't hurt....

Nurses With The Right Stuff Deserve A Sweet Brownie Treat For Nurses Week

I began working for the local newspaper during my sophomore year of college. I was majoring in journalism and was so excited to be near REAL reporters. One night at happy hour, a veteran reporter spent a good 30 minutes complaining about his career choice. When he realized I was still in school, he looked me in the eye and said, "Change your major to nursing. Do it now, and you won't regret it."

Nurses Week, browniesRamblings of a drunken man? Well, yes. But his girlfriend (now wife) was a nurse and loved her job.

Although I didn't follow his advice, I don't know if I would have been a good nurse if I HAD changed majors.

Knowing several nurses in my life, I realize they are successful in their chosen field because they have the right qualities for the job.

Good nurses must be empathetic and compassionate; they must be able to handle stress and accept suffering and death; they must communicate well and pay attention to details; and they must be able to switch gears, shifts or procedures at a moment's notice.

Perfect brownie gifts as seen on TV? Here’s a better choice.

perfect brownie giftYou may remember seeing TV ads for the Perfect Brownie Pan. In fact, if you love perfect brownie gifts as much as we do, you may even have dialed the 800-number right then and there. And, if you did, the Federal Trade Commission has your back.

That’s right. The FTC has a bone to pick with Allstar Marketing Group, the marketer behind Perfect Brownie Pans and other as-seen-on-TV products like the Snuggie and Magic Mesh door covers.

Last month, according to an article in Consumerist, AMG agreed to pay $7.5 million to the FTC and $500,000 to the New York Attorney General’s Office. The agreement came after AMG allegedly duped buyers with buy-one-get-one free offers that included oversized shipping and handling fees.

So, yeah, you might think twice about that particular purchase. However, if you’re still on the lookout for the perfect brownie gift, Fairytale Brownies has you covered.

Just in time for the season, we have a delicious lineup of mouthwatering brownies, cookies, and bars wrapped in...
