New Gourmet Brownie Gifts for Fall!

We are busy right now at the Fairytale Bakery, gearing up for the busiest time of year: the Fall/Holiday Season. This has always been my favorite time of year. Probably because growing up in Phoenix, it means the temperature outside finally drops out of the 100s. But I also really love the colors and flavors of fall, the fun of Halloween, the delicious food of Thanksgiving, and of course all the festivities around the Holiday season!

We have some great new products coming out this Fall and Holiday season to help you celebrate and enjoy this great time of year! Starting with Fall, we have a new and amazing seasonal brownie flavor coming out: Pumpkin Spice. My colleague Alyssa was at a sampling of this flavor. Check out the response to this delicious new gourmet brownie.

We also have new favor gifts for Halloween and Thanksgiving! Go beyond the candy bowl with gourmet brownies packed in a purple and white favor box with a festive “Happy Halloween” on the lid. And in November, send brownies...

Pumpkin Spice Fudge Brownies Are Just Weeks Away From Debut

fudge browniesOoh!

Aah!

You're killing me.

What IS that?

Mmmmm!

Oh, that is the bomb.

What a pleasure to hear people's reactions to tasting Fairytale Brownies' new Pumpkin Spice Brownie at a recent trade show in Long Beach, Calif. The new seasonal brownie debuts Sept. 2 and we gave show attendees a sneak preview.

Overall, the reviews were positive. On the first day of our show, we only had one person say he didn't care for the new flavor. He not only didn't care for it, he passionately said, "I hate it."

He brought his wife back with him to our booth on the second day and told her how much he hated the fudge brownie. He wanted her to sample it and give her opinion. She tasted it and loved it.

I get it. Not everyone likes pumpkin. Not everyone likes chocolate either. I can't imagine why, but to each his own. Personally, I LOVE pumpkin. I can't wait for the season of everything pumpkin to return. And now that Fairytale will have a Pumpkin Spice Brownie, I couldn't be happier.

Our Pumpkin Spice Brownie doesn't...

New Seasonal Gourmet Brownie Flavor Popular at SAAC Show

Last week we were in Long Beach for the SAAC Show 2014 - an international trade show for distributors of promotional products. This was our second year exhibiting, and I have to say that we enjoy everything about the show - the people, the venue, the location.

This year, we introduced our new Pumpkin Spice Brownie to all SAAC Show attendees. Although the gourmet brownies will not be available for purchase until Sept. 2, we wanted to share our NEW flavor ahead of time for when it debuts. Because the Pumpkin Spice Brownie is seasonal, it will only be available for purchase between Sept. 2 and Dec. 31.

pumpkin, gourmet brownieThe Pumpkin Spice Brownie was a hit with show attendees. Even those who said they don't like pumpkin pie said they liked the brownie because the pumpkin flavor isn't overpowering. Our Pumpkin Spice brownie begins with a rich, Belgian dark chocolate base. Then we take sweet pumpkin puree and blend it with cream cheese, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger, and swirl it into the brownie...

Bake cookies on your patio or order a cookie delivery?

We ship brownies worldwide, but our bakery and retail location is in Phoenix, Arizona. While the rest of the country looks forward to summer all year, most Phoenicians are anxiously waiting fall and winter again. That is because it is reaching temperatures of 114 degrees right now! Yes, it is a dry heat, but whether you are in a dishwasher or oven it is still hot! And it does feel like an oven around here, so much so that our local news team decided they would try baking cookies outside using the Arizona heat alone!

ABC 15 Arizona put cookie dough on a baking sheet, and then placed it outside on their patio to cook for six hours. Some of their team then tried the cookies to see how it worked. Check out their video to see the brave tasters’ reactions.

Although it may be hot enough to bake cookies outside, we still use the ovens in our bakery to bake the best cookies around! With 6 moist, chewy cookie flavors to try, you are sure to find a favorite. So, it is up to you. Take the chance and...

Cookie gift businesses grow out of recession

cookie giftsOur nation’s recent economic challenges proved to be a fertile time for entrepreneurs. We recently read about a pair of growing cookie gift businesses that got their start during the recession.

The stories of Carolyn's Cookie Co. and Kitchen Vixen Cookie Shop warmed our hearts. After all, we started in much the same way. We just wanted to ship brownies and cookie gifts to dessert lovers like us.

According to The Californian of Salinas, California, Carolyn Walker was inspired to transform her mother’s cookie recipes into a business after reading Seth Godin’s book Linchpin. Unlike many cookie gift entrepreneurs, Carolyn’s idea involved selling frozen cookie dough balls that can be kept in your freezer until you’re ready to prepare them.

Meanwhile, the News Miner of Fairbanks, Alaska, introduced us to Kitchen Vixen Cookie Shop owner Jen Krzmarzick. Jen bakes custom cookies, but that’s not all. Her unique angle is that she loves consulting with clients to help make the perfect cookie – by...

Can a bake-off inspire a 13th gourmet brownie flavor?

12 gourmet browniesAt Fairytale Brownies, we love stories about best brownie contests. It just gets us all fired up about getting back into the test kitchen.

It’s true! It takes both inspiration and perspiration to add to our lineup of 12 gourmet brownie flavors. (You can try all 12 with a Fairytale Dozen.)

The Kansas City Star recently reported on a best brownie contest among culinary students at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. Kansas dessert manufacturer Tippin’s put up $1,000 as a prize for the contest.

This wasn’t your standard brownie bake-off though. All brownies had to meet commercial requirements as though they’d be distributed through grocery stores.

According to the Kansas City Star, the students didn’t let that limitation hold them back. Instead, they created brownies that were “fudge-y, cake-y, dusted with powdered sugar, thickly frosted, sprinkled with nuts, drizzled with caramel, layered with coconut, infused with raspberry jam and topped with whipped cream and cherries.”

Fudgy chocolate brownies are a great student care package

student care package of browniesAlthough I live near Fairytale Brownies headquarters and my alma matre of Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz., I spend my summers in Seattle. Believe it or not, it’s rather hot back home at this time of year.

Late last month, I was invited to a Sun Devil Send-Off event in Seattle. The event offered recent Seattle area high school graduates the chance to ask local alumni like me about their college experience and make friends with other incoming students before heading south to Arizona.

The Seattle event was one of more than three dozen send-offs from New York City to Shanghai, China.

What a great idea. Right?

After all, college is hard enough on new students. Living away from home. Cooking and cleaning for yourself. Maybe even studying from time to time.

At Fairytale Brownies, we think a great way to help your student warm to college life is with a student care package of fudgy chocolate brownies wrapped in a festive good luck band.

A single well-timed fudgy chocolate brownie can...
