5 Reasons to Gift Gourmet Brownies

Gift Gourmet Brownies

It's never been easier to send gourmet brownies to your friends, family and loved ones. Looking for a reason to gift gourmet brownies? Here are 5 to get you started:

  1. Health Benefits of Chocolate: According to women's health mag, chocolate is now considered a "superfood!" Cacao, the bean chocolate is made from is packed with healthy chemicals like flavonoids and theobromine, which has disease-killing components. Stick to chocolate with at least 70% cacao, you'll reap the benefits. Fairytale Brownies are baked with Callebaut Dark Belgian Chocolate (pure - unsweetened).
  2. Evoke childhood memories and sensations: According to howstuffworks, smells and tastes can bring on a flood of memories that influence people moods. Because we encounter most new smells and tastes in our youth, they often call up childhood memories. Childhood memories shape our lives, and reliving the  loving sensation of eating Mom's brownies after school is one that I want to relive as many times as possible.
  3. Send a Thank...

Bake Sally’s gourmet cookies between brownie deliveries

Sally McKenney, a writer and photographer from Baltimore, has developed quite a following for her excellent food blog Sally’s Baking Addiction. It’s a great stop for gourmet cookie and dessert recipes to fill the gap between brownie deliveries from Fairytale Brownies.

Sally’s blog recently caught the attention of NPR, which published her recipe for Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Cookies. Sally’s gourmet cookies are sprinkled with sea salt and stuffed with caramel. Last year, the recipe won a Nestle Toll House contest—and the accompanying $5,000 grand prize!

So, how does one go about stuffing caramel into a gourmet cookie? As Sally's told to NPR, “The trick to stuffing the caramel candy inside is to make sure the dough completely envelops it. Otherwise you'll have a leaking caramel mess on your cookie sheets!”

Yeah, we’re guessing that’s not as easy as it sounds.

If you’re in the mood for a sweet combination of chocolate and caramel but you’re not ready to follow Sally into the kitchen, it’s...

Cookie deliveries for the troops on Valentine’s Day

The weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day are busy at Fairytale Brownies as we hand pack and ship brownie and cookie deliveries for sweethearts around the country and globe. gift basket for valentines day

Well, we’re not the only ones working hard to deliver the goods on Valentine’s Day.

This year, we offer a special salute to Bomber Girls LRC of Savannah, Georgia. The Bomber Girls spend the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day collecting home-baked cookies to create delicious gift baskets for our troops serving overseas.

The group’s creative call to arms is: “Fire up your ovens to send the troops some Lovin'.”

The tradition started six years ago with 300 dozen cookies finding their ways into the hands and stomachs of men and women serving our country overseas. By 2012, the number of cookie deliveries had skyrocketed to 6,000 dozen!

Baking that many cookies requires a nationwide effort! Debbie Will of Porter County in northwest Indiana contributed dozens of chocolate chip cookies, plus a 2-pound bag of large dog treats,...

Delivery brownies and cookie gifts with a hint of mint

There’s just something about the combination of rich chocolate and cool, refreshing mint. No wonder someone had the bright idea of proclaiming February 19 as Chocolate Mint Day. delivery browneis with mint chocolate

We love mint at Fairytale Brownies! We offer mint chocolate varieties of our delivery brownies and cookie gifts that are sure to please the mint lovers in your life. Hey, they might even appreciate these fun facts about mint, courtesy of the Mint Industry Research Council.

  • Ninety percent of all peppermint and spearmint oil produced in the U.S. goes into chewing gum, toothpaste, and mouth wash. That doesn’t leave much for the rest of us!
  • Mint is likely one of the earliest herbs put to regular use. Mint has been found in Egyptian tombs dating back to 1,000 BC and was probably used in China even earlier.
  • The early Romans believed mint improved intelligence. The Roman army carried mint with it throughout Europe, helping it to spread into new areas.

Velvety peanut butter and smooth dark chocolate compliment each other in our Peanut Butter Brownie. Gourmet Cookie S'mores

One of my favorite things about winter is cozying up next to a warm fire! This year I was a little more adventurous and went winter camping. Of course here in Arizona, it didn't get below freezing, but I did appreciate that camp fire. A great past time around the fire is roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. Yum! This time, however, I decided to give it a Fairytale Brownies twist by making Peanut Butter Cookie S'mores. It was simple, fun, and delicious! Follow this recipe and instructions to make your own gourmet cookie s'mores!

You will need:

Happy "Thanksgivukkah!" A special mashup of Holidays!

This year, American Jews will celebrate something that has never happened before . . . and will never happen again. The first day of Hanukkah 2013 starts at sunset on Wednesday November 27th the night before Thanksgiving, Thursday November 28th.

Historically, Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday in November, meaning the latest it can be is November 28th. As it turns out, November 28th is the earliest Hanukkah can be.

According to this source, The Jewish calendar repeats on a 19-year cycle, and Thanksgiving repeats on a 7-year cycle, which you'd expect these two holidays to coincide every 133 years (19x7). So, the last time this would have happened would have been in 1861. However, Thanksgiving wasn't established until 1863. Furthermore, moving forward, the Jewish calendar is slowly getting out of sync with the solar calendar (there's a long technical explanation for this which I'll spare you), so this colliding of holiday's will never happen again!

However you're celebrating this historic...
