When it comes
to college football, a cookie gift can make or break your season.

Last December, we told you about
Southern Cal’s winning streak that coincided with interim head
coach Ed Orgeron’s decision to reinstate
dessert at team meals. As
the New York Times
put it, "His reasoning: If you give
a lineman a cookie, he’ll want to block for you.”
And just last month, cookie
gifts crept into college football again.
According to the Associated
Press, South Carolina just
reported seven NCAA rules infractions committed by its football
team. One violation related to “impermissible iced decorations on a
cookie cake” given to high school recruits.
We’ll admit that we have no idea
what that means. But it sure sounds delicious!
Fortunately for South Carolina
coach Steve Spurrier, it doesn’t look like the decision to order
