Share the best brownies with everyone on your list

Fairytale Brownies customers are the best! We frequently get raves and comments sent to us with personal brownie stories attached. My last couple of blog posts Brownie Grooms-cake and Brownie Wedding Gift Favors have revolved around a few of these brownie stories, and they're getting so meaninful and interesting to read, that I wanted to share one more. Every time I read how a Fairytale Brownies have made a lifetime memory, it makes me happy and I realize that I have just a small part in helping to spead joy through gourmet brownies :)

"You are the BEST! Our families have been buying brownie gifts from you forever. I'm from Mesa, and have been traveling to Oklahoma to take care of my Mom the past few years, so we have been ordering and sending your wonderful brownies there. My Mom has health care workers, a house cleaner, and handy-man come to help as there is too much for me to do! They usually leave with one of your wonderful brownies and a big smile on their face. They all tell...

Brownie grooms-cake and precious memories!

Last week I shared a great comment sent to us from an excited customer who's daughter used Fairytale Brownies as custom wedding favors. The favors were a smashing success! This week we received another, very touching, comment about more wedding brownies. It's stories like the one's below that make doing what we do worth every minute. Spreading joy and making memories . . . that's what it's all about!

"Just wanted to send in this quick RAVE! My daughter ordered brownies to use as the basis for her husbands grooms-cake last week at her wedding. I remembered how amazing your brownies were from a few years back when my closest friend received some for a gift. They were so good that she and I hid them in the freezer in her garage so we wouldn't have to share them with anyone else. When we sat down to watch an old movie, we would take two out of the freezer. My friend has since passed on, but for many reasons she was with us at the wedding including watching us eat those wonderful brownies....

Banned from Elyria’s cookie craze? Order cookies by mail from us

chocolate cookies by mailOhio’s Elyria City School District recently found itself in hot water with the federal government. The district’s popular pink cookies – loaded with butter, sugar, vegetable shortening, and sour cream – were deemed unhealthy by new federal guidelines for school cafeterias.

As a result, Elyria’s best cookie was banned from the district’s 16 schools. And, as is so often the case, demand only grew once the cookies were banned. It didn’t hurt that national media outlets, including Fox News and newspapers nationwide, ran with the story.

According to the Chronicle-Telegram of Lorain County, Ohio, the school district received over 100 calls and emails from across North America requesting the pink cookies by mail.

If you can’t get a hold of Elyria’s banned pink cookies, we’ve got you covered. With Fairytale Brownies, you can order cookies by mail in a variety of flavors.

Double Chocolate is one of our best cookie flavors. They certainly go over well in the Phoenix home of Fairytale Brownies regular...

Thank you gifts for new baby

For those of you who follow my blogs, you may have noticed that I haven't written in a while. That's because I just returned from a 3-month maternity leave, and am in the midst of sorting through 5,000+ emails and reacquainting myself with tons of loose ends. And yes, I did say maternity leave! I just welcomed a beautiful baby girl to my family in July. Her name is MacKenzie, and she is the absolute light of my life (along with my son, Austin!).

I had sort of a bumpy pregnancy because of my "advanced maternal age" (I loved it when the doctors said that... NOT); since when is 40 advanced?! Additionally, I had an early delivery due to the pregnancy complications, but the result could not have been sweeter. I was extremely lucky to have the support of many family and friends during the entire pregnancy and post partum. It's absolutely true what they say about learning who your true friends are during trials and tribulations.

Thank You brownie giftTo my great surprise, I had many people who in the past I...

Fall in Love with Pumpkin Spice Brownies at Fairytale's Anniversary Open House

Twenty-two years ago, David Kravetz and Eileen Spitalny began their entrepreneurial adventure to bake the best gourmet brownies by co-founding the mail order company Fairytale Brownies. Today, their business not only bakes delicious fudge brownies, the duo has added chewy cookies and buttery blondie bars to the menu... all of which rival their delicious gourmet brownies.

For the past several years we've celebrated Fairytale Brownies' anniversary month with an Open House - sharing new packaging and new products, sampling all of our product flavors, and selling our "reject" brownies for $1. All proceeds from the sale of the rejects go to our national nonprofit partner KaBOOM!

fudge brownies, gourmet brownies, anniversaryThis year's Open House will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at our bakery on Cotton Center Blvd. (48th St. & Broadway Rd.). Because we are introducing our new Pumpkin Spice Brownie, the party has taken on a "fall" theme. We will serve apple cider, water, coffee, and all of the Fairytale Brownies cookie,...

Order brownies for the season of treats (and maybe some tricks)!

It is October! My favorite time of year! The wonderful fall flavors, the temps in Phoenix finally dropping out of the 100’s, and of course Halloween! Although Halloween isn’t until the end of the month, I start decorating right away! It gets me in the mood for the whole month.

I always make sure to have some kind of sweet around as well, because it is the season of treats after all. Sometimes it’s candy, but when I put out Fairytale Brownies Magic Morsels, the bowl doesn’t stay full for long!

I also like spreading the Halloween spirit. I give out Halloween Favors to a few friends who live close, and I like to send the Halloween Morsel 24 to friends and family who live farther away.

I know many people say that Halloween is more of a kids’ holiday, but I think it is the time of year to bring out the kid in adults as well. Now if I could just decide on a costume…

Experience the Difference with Fairytale's Brownie Gift Basket

Because our fudge brownies, gourmet cookies and buttery blondie bars are baked with quality ingredients, and our packaging is custom designed, most people react animatedly when they receive a Fairytale Brownies gift. This reaction is all a part of the "Fairytale Experience." The following is a recent recipient's response when a brownie gift was sent to her from Kim Silva, Operations Team Leader:

OMG!

The Brownies!  OMG!
My first brownie was the “Espresso Nib”.
Just the right sweetness…
Just the right cake-like melt-in-your-mouth smoothness…
Just the right crunchiness…
UNBELIEVABLE!
I will be saving them in my freezer and doling them out to myself to savor for the next 6 months.  I will remember you and David with each bite!

But the Experience of JOY!  OMG!
You see, the package may have been delivered last night, but I received it this morning when Jasmine went outside.
The pristine packaging – the white box by my front door…
The name, Fairytale Brownies, Did someone want to send me...

Gourmet cookies. Fudge brownies. Crackers and biscuits?

fudge browniesI spent this weekend camping in North Cascades National Park and rafting down the Skagit River in northern Washington. What an adventure!

One member of our party was an Englishwoman working as an au pair in Seattle. Now, this young lady loved her desserts, so she’d definitely have loved gourmet cookies and fudge brownies from Fairytale Brownies.

That said, she may have had trouble ordering them – even if we had found an Internet connection out in the wilderness.

As Irish writer George Bernard Shaw once said, “England and America are two countries divided by a common language.” This woman, like her English countrymen, have got their cookies and brownies all mixed up with their biscuits and crackers.

If you’re unclear where our two nations stand, here’s a rundown:

In England, a biscuit is a small baked product that an American would probably refer to either as a cookie (if it was sweet) or a cracker (if it was savory).

In England, the word cookie is used only to describe a chocolate chip cookie....
