Last weekend I made one of my family's favorite desserts - Oy Vey Brownies. The real name of these fudge brownies is something like Peanut Butter Frosted Brownies, but a dear, former co-worker once dubbed them "Oy Vey" and the name stuck.
Now that I use Fairytale Brownies instead of a box mix, the dessert truly summons an "Oy Vey" response! Here is the recipe:
OY VEY BROWNIES
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup of packed brown sugar
- 10-12 mini peanut butter cups
- 12 Fairytale Brownies (3" x 3" Original, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip... whatever flavor you prefer)
Mix cream cheese, peanut butter and brown sugar until smooth. Spread over individual brownies. Chop peanut butter cups into small pieces and sprinkle over frosted brownies. Cut each brownie into 4 pieces and place on serving plate. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
VARIATION: To make this recipe even more decadent, spread chopped peanuts and/or chocolate syrup on top of frosting.
Makes 48 bite-sized brownies.
Here is a video of the brownie-making process. I doubled the recipe in the video, so don't use those amounts unless you want to serve about 100 pieces.
