I definitely got a little homesick at times!

No one can resist these fudgy bites of bliss, so it is a great ice-breaker for making new friends! The best part is you can send them brownie gifts all semester long. Send brownies to your cousins for their special day

I grew up in a large Italian family in small town in northern New York. We seemed to be related to everyone.

cousins day, gourmet brownies, send brownies

The good thing about having a large family was being able to spend time with my cousins. It didn't matter whose house we visited - theirs or ours - there always was someone to hang out with and always something to do.

gourmet brownies, send browniesDid you know that July 24 is Cousin's Day? Now you have an excuse to send brownies to your favorite cousins to let them know you're thinking about them.

July 24 also is National Tequila Day. Because I like tequila, my perfect Cousin's Day would be to hang out with my cousins, eat gourmet brownies and drink tequila.

It would be a magical day. :)

Serve Pecan Blondies in Celebration of National Pecan Pie Day

blondie

Pecan Pie. Yes, it's normally a Thanksgiving Day dessert, but we're thinking about it in July because July 12th is National Pecan Pie Day.

If pecan pie isn't on your list of items to bake in July, you might want to save time and order a food gift of buttery brown sugar bars from Fairytale Brownies.

A Fairytale Brownies Pecan Blondie tastes so much like pecan pie, you might as well top it with vanilla ice cream and dig in. I believe Fairytale's Pecan Blondie recipe is so close to tasting like "real" pecan pie that the only ingredients missing are corn syrup and bourbon...

Hmm. Forget the corn syrup. But you might want to drink the bourbon by the pool while you savor your Pecan Blondie.

Stay Cool Through Dog Days of Summer With Gourmet Brownies

gourmet browniesAccording to the Old Farmer's Almanac, July 3 marks the beginning of the Dog Days of Summer because it coincides with the rising of the Dog Star, Sirius. Although the rising of Sirius doesn't affect the weather, temperatures seem to climb as well as our cravings for frozen treats.

Our Fairytale Brownies buddy, Chuy, isn't concerned about the Dog Star or the weather. But he is serious about gourmet brownies... and buttery bars... and, of course, chewy "chuy" cookies.

Chuy recommends using Fairytale Brownies treats for all of your summer desserts. Store fudge brownies, cookies and bars in the freezer and thaw as needed. (Some customers enjoy our products frozen!) Serve Fairytale Brownies treats by themselves or as a part of a frozen confection like an Ice Cream Sandwich or Ice Cream Sundae. Or create a brownie trifle, a brownie parfait, or a brownie pie.

Keep cool through the Dog Days of Summer with gourmet brownies from Fairytale Brownies.

Celebrate Chocolate Day with Belgian Chocolate Brownies

July 7th is Chocolate Day, and what better way to celebrate it than with some Belgian chocolate brownies from Fairytale Brownies? When you first take a bite of our rich, fudge brownies you will amaze at the decadent flavor. The reason our brownies taste so delicious is because we start with premium ingredients like farm-fresh eggs and real creamery butter. Of course the star ingredient is the chocolate, more specifically, imported Callebaut Belgian dark chocolate!

When you taste Fairytale Brownies the chocolate is sweet and oh so yummy, but did you know the chocolate you taste actually came from a vegetable? Yes, chocolate is produced from the exotic cocoa bean trees which grow in the warm and humid equatorial belt. The trees produce cocoa beans, and the seeds inside are harvested, dried, cleaned, and then roasted. The shell is then removed to produce cocoa nibs, which are then put into grinders so that they can first be ground coarsely, then to a super fine cocoa liquor. Cocoa butter...

Show your love with custom food gifts

custom food gift cookiesYou’ve heard the old adage that the path to a man’s heart is through his stomach. A couple of teenaged boys turned that idea on its head by creating custom food gifts to show their prom dates that that they care.

The Watertown Daily News of New York reported this summer that two local teens asked out their prom dates with custom-made desserts. And they went a bit further than ordering cookies or bite-size Magic Morsels in our heartfelt Thinking of You band.

William Serota formed cookie dough into the shape of the characters: P-R-O-M-?. When the cookies were done baking, he sent his date Carly Sullivan to the kitchen to check on them. Fortunately, she said yes.

Meanwhile, their classmate Jake Turck ordered Chinese food with a special fortune cookie in it. When his date Cassie Birth opened it, a note reading “Will you go to prom with me? – Jake” fell out. Again, she said yes.

Yes, prom season is behind us. But these heart-warming stories reminded us of the power of custom food gifts to show your...

Buy cookies. Don’t steal them from Subway.

send cookies in summery packagingWhen it comes time to send cookies to loved ones, there are a few approaches available. You can buy cookies from Fairytale Brownies. Or, you can follow the lead of two criminals who recently stole cookies from Subway.

(Hopefully, you’ll choose the former.)

That’s right. Earlier this summer, two different men in two different states stole cookies from Subway. That’s two cookie thefts in one week! Stick that in the “what is this world coming to” file.

According to the Sun Sentinel of South Florida, detectives in Broward County were on the hunt for a man who hopped the counter of a Subway to grab cash from the register after becoming enraged by the cost of his cookie.

That same week, in our home state of Arizona, Tucson News Now reported that a man stole an entire rack of cookies from Subway before fleeing on foot. (As a Sun Devil, I’m obliged to report that the man was wearing a University of Arizona sweatshirt.)

Remember kids. Crime doesn’t pay. If you want your own desserts, buy cookies in...
