peanut butter cookie giftThirty-five years after he was born on this day in 1849, Marcellus Gilmore Edson changed life as we know it. (Or, at least as I know it, since I’m somewhat addicted to his invention.)

According to Wikipedia, the Canadian pharmacist became the first person to patent peanut butter in 1884. In his patent application, he described peanut butter as having “a consistency like that of butter, lard, or ointment” and requiring peanuts to be milled to “a fluid or semi-fluid state.”

If that sounds less than appetizing, our peanut butter-flavored gourmet brownies and cookie gifts may do the trick for you.

Our Peanut Butter Cookie combines natural peanut butter and pure cane sugar to create a creamy cookie with that classic peanut butter taste.

Our customer service team lead Ellie Perry is especially fond of the cookie. “The peanut butter cookie is a classic-style cookie,” she said. “Rich peanut butter flavor with just the right amount of crunch on the edge and soft texture in the middle. LOVE IT!”

Our Peanut Butter Brownie combines velvety peanut butter and smooth dark chocolate in a rich, gourmet brownie. Fairytale Brownies fan Mary Beth of Olean, New York, raved, “These brownies are the perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate -- outstanding taste!”

Whether you’re in the mood for a gourmet brownie or a delicious cookie gift, Fairytale Brownies has your peanut butter craving covered. Happy birthday, Mr. Edson!
