Send Fudgy Chocolate Brownies for the Chinese New Year!

Did you know that January 31st is the Chinese New Year? It is a major holiday in the Chinese culture, where families get together to celebrate good fortune and happiness for the coming new year. Each year is presided over by an animal zodiac, and this year is the year of the horse!

If you or someone you know celebrate the Chinese New Year, then make sure to wish them happiness and good fortune by sending them a Chinese New Year's brownie gift from Fairytale Brownies. As one of the graphic designers here, I got to design the messaging for these new gourmet gifts. In keeping with Chinese traditions, the gift band has a joyful red and yellow message of Happy New Year, and is accompanied by a dragon, a legendary and important animal in the Chinese culture. There are also Chinese lanterns representing the Lantern Festival, a celebration full of lights, firecrackers, and food!

So make sure to wish your friends and loved ones a Happy New Year with a Chinese New Year gift. Simply visit brownie...

Brownie gifts and cookie baskets with toffee

If you didn’t get enough sweets during the holidays, you’re in luck! That’s because January 8 is National Toffee Day and, believe us, we’ve got your toffee cravings covered. We deliver brownie gifts and cookie baskets with toffee taking center stage.

We’ll tell you more about our toffee desserts in a bit. First, here are a few facts about toffee, courtesy of Wikipedia.

  • Toffee is made by caramelizing sugar or molasses along with butter and (sometimes) flour. The mixture is heated until its temperature exceeds 300 degrees!
  • The Oxford English Dictionary traces the word “toffee” as far back as 1825. Apparently, it was used first as a variation of taffy. Makes sense to us!
  • The two most popular toffees in the U.S. are honeycomb toffee and English toffee. Interestingly, our English toffee is far different from the toffee enjoyed in England itself.

Toffee Crunch brownieSo, are you hungry for some toffee? Our Toffee Crunch Brownies have golden, buttery toffee pieces baked in for a delightful crunch. And our Toffee...

Although I know of some highly organized individuals who have managed to finish their holiday shopping, I’m not one of them. If you’re like me and are still considering gift options, you might be interested in this week’s Fairytale Brownies giveaway.

gourmet browniesFairytale Brownies was proud to be a part of Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013 held at New York’s Madison Square Garden this past spring. Held every three years since 2004, the Crossroads Guitar Festival brings the world’s greatest musicians together to perform and raise funds for the Crossroads Centre in Antigua, a chemical dependency treatment and education facility founded by Eric Clapton.

The Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013 was recorded and is available on two Blu-ray discs or as two DVDs. Audio highlights from the festival have been released as a 2-CD set featuring...

Fairytale Brownies Holiday Season Blast From the Past!

As we approach the month of December and the upcoming holidays, I find myself reminiscing about the one season we actually ran out of brownies, believe it or not!!!

It was 1997 and we were a few years into the business when we had an unexpected rush on brownies for the holidays, so mid-December we actually ran out of some of our brownie flavors.  We were unable to bake anymore of the delectable Belgian chocolate brownies because our very tiny commercial kitchen had been transformed into a shipping department.  We only had a limited selection of brownie flavors available, so we made due with what we had. . . . Needless to say, we've never forgotten "the season we ran out of brownies".  We've definitely come a long way since then and now occupy a large production facility with plenty of space for baking and shipping, so we plan to never have that problem again!

If you've been a fan of Fairytale Brownies for a while you know that we no longer just carry our famous brownies, but over the...

Thank the host with gourmet brownies!

The holidays are upon us and it is the season for gathering with friends and family. I know for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year I always end up going to someone else's for the festivities.
