Fairytale Brownies donates to help those in need this Thanksgiving

Fairytale Brownies participated in their 2nd Annual Canned Food Drive and partnered with 102.5 KNIX Radio Station in Phoenix to be part of the Million Can Crusade. This charity event helps feed those in need by filling the empty shelves of  St. Vincent de Paul's Food Bank.

I am proud to report that Fairytale Brownies team members generously donated nearly 700 cans this year! I'm so grateful to work with such giving people! I would like to personally thank everyone who took the time to donate to such a wonderful cause!

As of this post, the people of Arizona donated a total of 1,468,153 cans!

Here is a photo of me and Barrel Boy from KNIX Radio Station who collected the cans on behalf of St. Vincent de Paul. I was pleased that Barrel Boy remembered me from last year (see my post here). As I approached him, he shouted, "Hey, here comes the Fairytale Brownies lady!" I did give him a bag of brownies as a thank you for standing in the cold all day in a barrel; he claims it's all in a...

Graduation Brownies Go to the Dogs!

Graduation is upon us in many forms this time of year including Dog Training Graduation. Yes, doggie training graduation! I rescued a Border Collie a year ago who came to me with many challenges so I placed him in obedience and agility training to help him overcome his obstacles. After six weeks of hard work and lots and lots of treats for positive re-enforcement behavior, Jah has proudly graduated! There's no doubt that Jah is more confident now as are his other 12 classmates.

The handlers, including myself, have been so dedicated every week literally trying to teach old and young dogs new tricks! The dogs have been rewarded with treats, confidence, and pride in pleasing their owners. I decided to extend a little "treat" to the owners for a job well done by sharing Gourmet Chocolate Fairytale Brownies so I selected a combination of flavors of snack sized fudgy Fairytale Sprites and buttery Fairytale Bars. My treats were received with a response of, "Oh, wow! Fairytale Brownies?? We...

Dedicated Riders are rewarded with Fairytale Brownies

Every Friday at 5:45am at my local gym, there are a core group of dedicated indoor bicyclists, including myself, who attend Kim Lovell’s spin class. Last Friday, I decided to ask the class if they would dedicate the ride to my dear friend, Maureen, who is very sick. I wanted to do something for my friend that would be inspirational and to give our ride a true purpose. I ended up receiving more than I could ever imagined from this amazing group of people! Blood, sweat, and tears flowed as we pushed our bodies to the maximum with Maureen as our inspiration. Throughout our ride, Kim motivated us in a caring way that was so heartfelt; you could honestly feel the compassion in the dedicated riders. After a ride of about 15 miles, you certainly need to fuel your body so I rewarded my spin friends with fudgy chocolate snack-size Fairytale Sprites. I thanked this group from the bottom of my heart and walked out with a feeling of great accomplishment!

The following day, I returned to the gym for...

Enchanting Halloween Celebration at Fairytale Brownies

Our Enchanting day in Fairyland..........

Who says you can't work hard and have fun, too? There's nothing healthier in the workplace than adding a little fun and Halloween is the perfect time for our team members to show their true colors and let their hair down! In addition to allowing our team members to dress in costume, we had a company-wide Halloween Dessert Pot Luck! Fairytale Brownies contributed to the Pot Luck by providing our very own Yummy Fairytale Caramel Pecan Cookies!  I honestly don't think I've ever witnessed so many desserts and such creativity by our team members!

As we were enjoying our treats, we received our 2nd Annual Halloween visit from the cutest little cowboy in all of the southwest "Sully the Cowboy," grandson of Nancy V., CSR. As Sully left Fairyland, his only word was "FUN!" I think its safe to say we had a very enchanting day here at Fairytale Brownies!

Livin' La Vida Aloha!

Working for Fairytale Brownies has given me a much greater appreciation for the hard work that goes into making our delicious gourmet brownies. From the harvest of the cocoa bean to the sweet taste of chocolate, I’ve learned so much in my years working here and have taught many about chocolate and where it comes from. I’m very passionate, and love sharing my knowledge with others and especially love learning something new.

On a recent trip to the Hawaiian Islands, I toured Purdy’s All Natural Macadamia Nut Farm on the island of Molokai and learned so much about this little nut that has become my personal favorite!  Ever wonder why these nuts are so pricey? It takes seven years for the mac tree to bear fruit and cannot be harvested until the fruit falls, and then it is gathered by hand. Ninety percent of the world’s macadamia nuts are grown in Hawaii and Purdy’s Farm is one of the few that is family owned and all-natural. It was a great learning experience for me and I had a lots of fun...
