Fairytale Brownies fan Barbara Hand was the winning bidder in KAET Channel 8’s recent Great Online Auction. For her birthday, her husband purchased a Fairytale Brownies Bakery Tour and Tasting for six to 10 people.
Barbara’s tour began at 9 a.m. when her group donned hairnets and gathered to visit the Fairytale Brownies kitchen to watch our bakers prepare and bake gourmet fudgy brownies.
After observing our bakers, we moved to the test kitchen to create our own Fairytale Brownies. Chocolate chips, caramel dots, toffee pieces, walnuts, pecans, peanut butter, raspberry puree, white chocolate pieces, cocoa nibs and cream cheese… The toppings were all on the counter waiting to be mixed in Original brownie batter. The flavor possibilities were only limited by our imagination. Pecans framed my tray filled with chocolate chips, cacao nibs and toffee chunks! It was so delish I can't even tell you, yum!
While the brownie creations were baking, we went to the warehouse to learn how to hand pack a fudge brownie gift for shipping. Fairytale Brownies shipps brownies worldwide. Using the gift guide they filled their boxes, here's Barbara with her Fairytale Dozen ready to take home.
Then it was time for Q&A and a history lesson on chocolate. Callebaut gave me this awesome show-n-tell chocolate box with includes a cacao pod. I shared photos of cacao pods growing on trees, shared how they are hand harvested and then dried and conched. There is so much TLC in chocolate it is a truly amazing food!
We ate lunch in the break room and sampled our new fall cookie flavors (Peanut Butter and Mint Chocolate) for dessert.
Then we returned to the test kitchen to pick-up and package our freshly baked 1 lb. brownie tray creations.
Fairytale Brownies team members conduct daily quality control of our brownies. So we let our visitors experience this process. Each tour member sampled random brownie pieces for appearance, freshness, aroma and flavor.
When our tour ended, each person left with their brownie creations and a $40 Brownie Card to be used for a future purchase at our Fairytale Bakery here at the Cotton Center.
It is always worth a visit here for some free samples and watch baking through the windows.
