Recently, I won the grand prize in a contest from Arizona Big Media, which was promoted as the "Experience Arizona" gift package. The purpose of the contest was to promote locally owned businesses in the state of Arizona as well as promote the amazing adventures that you'll find waiting for you here. The prize package included:
- Balloon Ride tickets for 2 from Rainbow Ryders
- Hummer tour tickets for 2 from Hummer Tours
- 2 Tickets to an Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Game
- 2 Tickets to the Phoenix Zoo
- 2 Tickets to the Musical Instrument Museum; and
- A $50 gift certificate to the Salt Cellar in Scottsdale
What an exciting prize to win . . . my family has had a blast visiting the different attractions. Last weekend we went on the balloon ride, and let me tell you, Phoenix in the month of February is BEAUTIFUL. There is a reason that people flock here from all over the world during this time. To see the state from hundreds of feet in the air was amazing. It's really awesome that even though I've lived here for 20 years, I am experiencing some of these things for the first time.
Here's another fun fact . . . another Arizona must-have must-try is Fairytale Brownies. The company was founded in 1992 (we just celebrated our 20th anniversary of business last year) and has been going strong handcrafting delicious gourmet desserts for over 20 years. Fairytale Brownies gets visitors into our local retail store year-round. Customers from all over visit our store to see where the magic happens -- and some even get a tour of the facility. Often times, folks will stop in and place an order for a brownie delivery so when they get home, there'll be brownies waiting for them. What a great idea! If you'd like to find out more on Fairytale Brownies, visit brownies.com.
Supporting local is a great thing, but don't let that stop you from sending Fairytale Brownies to yourself, friends and family if you're out of state. The best brownies you'll find around, guaranteed!
By the way, here are some pictures snapped of the balloon ride last weekend. My son Austin is leaning over the side of the basket -- YIKES! But so much fun, he loved it!
