Researchers have been telling us for years that dark chocolate is good for us. As a chocolate lover, I don't need to be convinced of the benefits, but based on what I've read, I've come to the conclusion that eating one Fairytale brownie a day is actually good for me.
Consider this: Each Fairytale brownie is baked with Belgian dark chocolate - 100% dark cocoa.
1. Dark chocolate is good for the heart. Studies show that a 3.5 oz dark chocolate bar eaten every day by people who have high blood pressure can lower that blood pressure and reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol. Although I don't have high blood pressure or high cholesterol, if I've done the math correctly, that means I could enjoy one Fairytale Brownies Chocolate Chip fudge brownie (210 calories for a 3" x 1.5" Sprite) a day. I WILL have to shave a couple hundred calories from my diet, however...
2. Dark chocolate is an anti-depressant. Dark chocolate contains serotonin and stimulates pleasure endorphins. Combine the serotonin and the endorphins and you have one happy and contented gourmet brownie eater. Of course, sunlight and exercise also increase serotonin levels, so I might as well eat that fudge brownie while taking a walk in the Arizona sunshine to maximize the health benefits. Multi-tasking is good, right?
3. Dark chocolate slows the aging process. We've all heard that dark chocolate contains antioxidants (also found in leafy vegetables, fruits and wine). I figure if I eat my daily fudge brownie, munch on some spinach and wash it down with a glass of red wine, I will look my middle-aged self for the next 20 years.
Are you convinced yet?
