Hi, my name is Colleen Flynn. I am a Graphic Designer with the Catalog and Web Team at Fairytale Brownies. My duties mainly include working on marketing materials for both web and print. I am still fairly new to the Brownie Team, so read my blog as I work on new, fun projects and discover great gifting ideas!
I love all things crafty and creative, so you will find me blogging alot about ways to get creative with Fairytale Brownies, Cookies, & Bars! I also love finding excuses to celebrate, so my blogs will center around holidays: big and small, nationally recognized and obscure. I will also be giving you and inside look at some of the exciting things I get to do as a designer with Fairytale Brownies, such as photo shoots and catalog printing!
Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com. I would love to hear your questions, feedback, and random thoughts!

It is finals time! Many college
students are hitting the books hard, preparing for finals before
taking their holiday break. I can recall those college finals
weeks, well sort of. It was more of a haze of cramming and
caffeine than anything, and longing for the fun of holiday
If you have a student away at college, send them a little
pre-holiday treat from Fairytale Brownies. The sugar will do them good and
they will be reminded that they are so close to coming home to
family, friends and festivities.
Kristine from Portland, Oregon sent some to her college student.
She said, “A friend received these as a gift and shared at work.

We do it for people’s birthdays,
when they are sick, around the holidays, and sometimes just
because. Gifting is a huge part of our culture and steeped in
tradition. With the holidays coming up I am sure many of you have
gifting on your mind, and it can get a bit overwhelming. Before we
start making our lists and getting caught up in the shopping
frenzy, I’d like to take a moment to remind us all of the benefits
of gift giving.
Start with this question: Why do you give gifts?
“I like to make someone else feel good,” is a common response.
However, the benefits also extend to the giver and the relationship
between them and their recipient. When you decide to give a gift to
someone, you are thinking about them. You consider their likes and
dislikes. The search for the gift itself can be an emotional lift
and reinforce your relationship. You show an interest and
appreciation toward another person and this strengthens the bond
and it also helps to define the relationship.

At Fairytale Brownies we believe in the importance
of play. With a product that is so fun and such a whimsical brand,
how could we not! That is why we partner with the non-profit organization KaBOOM! Their goal is to
create a safe place to play in walking distance of every child in
America. I have gotten the opportunity to work at one of the
playground builds and it is amazing how many people come together
to create a fun place for kids to learn through play!
Of course play isn’t just for kids, or Halloween. Many of our
employees dressed up for the occasion, including myself. We really
do work at the best brownie company, not just because we make the
tastiest gourmet brownies, but because of the great work

Halloween is my favorite holiday
to get crafty. Something about creating fun and spooky decorations,
costumes, and food! It is the season of tricks and treats and I
found some really fun ways to get creative with those
Leave the candy for the kids and create some fun, but most
important, delicious sweets! With so many ideas out there, I
am going to focus on getting Halloween creative with brownies! For
all of these you can bake your own, but if you want something that
is guaranteed to bewitch your guests order fudgy
chocolate brownies from Fairytale Brownies. I recommend
purchasing your favorite flavor in bulk.
Now down to the fun part: getting creative with decorating these
fudgy brownies. Check out this pin from craftymorning.com: 13 Brownie
Halloween Ideas. I love the idea of using frosted pretzels to
make skeleton bodies, and the Monster Face Brownies is a great
craft to do with the kids!

I was born in California and
grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, so when someone mentioned Sweetest Day
to me I asked, “What is that?” I never celebrated it growing up,
but my Midwestern boyfriend knows all about it. Turns out, it is a
holiday mainly celebrated in the Midwest and Northeastern United
States. Wait! Another holiday focused around sweets? I can get
behind that! (Any excuse to eat Belgian Chocolate Brownies!)
I decided to do a little research on the history of this
Herbert Birch Kingston, a candy maker and philanthropist started
Sweetest Day to bring happiness to orphans, shut-ins and other
underprivileged children. Some of the biggest movie stars of the
day, including Theda Bara and Ann Pennington, distributed the
candy. Kingston wanted to show that these children had not been
Today, it is celebrated among family and friends. So, I have to
ask. Is this like another Valentine’s Day? Apparently hearts, reds
and pinks are still related to this day, and Hallmark has...

As a graphic designer, it is
important to remember that the designs you are creating serve a
function, and although we are creatives, we must design for the
brand or audience and not ourselves. We have to put personal styles
and preferences aside and consider who and what we are designing
for. Luckily for me, the company I work for, Fairytale Brownies, has a wonderful and whimsical
brand, that I love designing for.
I share this because I recently designed a new label for
Halloween that I really enjoyed, and I am very happy with the end
result. This Halloween, we have new Halloween themed labels for our new Pumpkin
These fudge brownies are my new favorite! Sweet
pumpkin puree blends with cream cheese, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice
and ginger to create a fanciful seasonal brownie. These
individually wrapped brownies come with an enchanting
jack-o-lantern design on the label, perfecting for spreading the
spirit of Halloween. Hand them out the co-workers, friends, family,

It is October! My favorite time
of year! The wonderful fall flavors, the temps in Phoenix finally
dropping out of the 100’s, and of course Halloween! Although
Halloween isn’t until the end of the month, I start decorating
right away! It gets me in the mood for the whole month.
I always make sure to have some kind of sweet around as well,
because it is the season of treats after all. Sometimes it’s candy,
but when I put out Fairytale Brownies Magic Morsels, the bowl
doesn’t stay full for long!
I also like spreading the Halloween spirit. I give out Halloween Favors to a few friends who live
close, and I like to send the Halloween Morsel 24 to friends and family who
live farther away.
I know many people say that Halloween is more of a kids’
holiday, but I think it is the time of year to bring out the kid in
adults as well. Now if I could just decide on a costume…

I love personalizing stuff!
Everything just becomes so much more special. That is why I love
sending personalized photo brownie gifts from Fairytale Brownies. Not only does the recipient LOVE
the delicious fudge brownies, but they have something special
to treasure for years to come.
I recently sent my boyfriend’s family in Minnesota some Photo 8-Sprite Favor Gifts. We had just visited
them for a week and I wanted to thank them for making me feel so
welcome and like part of the family. They really go out of there
way for us, so I want to give them something special in return.
There was one photo we took from the visit that everyone loved.
I noticed that several family members had made it their cover photo
on Facebook, so I decided to give them that photo in a form they
could keep forever! Now they have a high quality, elegant favor box
with the photo printed right on top! Once the fudge brownies are
gone they can keep it for any other use they like!
Check out our variety of Photo Gifts!...

Comfort foods. We have all
heard the term, and I am sure just reading it has put a specific
food in your mind. I personally think of mashed potatoes and gravy,
must be the Irish in me. But I also think of chocolate, like that
found in our Belgian Chocolate Brownies.
The old psychology student in me got curious about our behavior
with certain foods and why we find them so comforting. Many people
turn to certain foods to positively impact their emotions. They
choose foods that either trigger nostalgia or that let them
indulge. For some people, comfort food is something that is
convenient, while with others it is the actual physical comfort the
What are specific comfort foods? Well, it really comes down to
personal preferences and of course culture plays a big role. A
study did reveal some patterns in the United States. The study
found that “Males preferred warm, hearty, meal-related comfort
foods (such as steak, casseroles, and soup), while females instead

My parents are celebrating their
anniversary! They truly are an inspiration to the lovers out there.
They always filled our home with so much love, and my brother
and I are lucky to have them as examples in our lives.
My parents always say, “Don’t get us anything!” But
special occasions like this one deserve recognition, so I had to
send them some delicious gourmet brownies from Fairytale
Brownies! My mom is a diabetic but thankfully we offer sugar free brownies! I sent them our Happy Anniversary Morsel 36 and opted to
choose my own flavors! This is a great feature
that allows me to customize the gift based on my parents’ needs and
tastes. I made sure half of the delicious bite-size morsels were
sugar-free so my mom can enjoy them, and chose non sugar free
flavors, like caramel and chocolate chip, so my dad gets what he
wants as well.
Delicious gourmet brownies hand-packed and wrapped in an elegant

thing about the world of social media, we get to see all the fun
vacations our friends and loved ones took. I hope everyone got some
sort of fun adventure in before fall begins. I am super excited to
be going to Minnesota in a few days to visit friends and
When I vacation, it usually means someone is kind enough to put
me up for a week or two. Yes, it would sometimes be nice to stay in
a luxurious hotel, but we can't always afford that. Plus I often
vacation specifically to see people I love, so staying with them is
always a fun part of it! However, I know it can be challenging to
host someone for week, so make sure you thank those who helped you
have such a wonderful vacation.
Send your hosts or hostesses gourmet brownie gifts from
Fairytale Brownies. We have made gifting very simple, just go
