If you didn’t get enough sweets during the holidays, you’re in luck! That’s because January 8 is National Toffee Day and, believe us, we’ve got your toffee cravings covered. We deliver brownie gifts and cookie baskets with toffee taking center stage.
We’ll tell you more about our toffee desserts in a bit. First, here are a few facts about toffee, courtesy of Wikipedia.
- Toffee is made by caramelizing sugar or molasses along with butter and (sometimes) flour. The mixture is heated until its temperature exceeds 300 degrees!
- The Oxford English Dictionary traces the word “toffee” as far back as 1825. Apparently, it was used first as a variation of taffy. Makes sense to us!
- The two most popular toffees in the U.S. are honeycomb toffee and English toffee. Interestingly, our English toffee is far different from the toffee enjoyed in England itself.
